I just saw Thor for the first time (i know i am late but after endgame i wanted to see all the other films i hadnt seen) and would like to make a similar character what class and race that are playable should i use? Also would the race and class be available in vanilla?

It can’t not be anything except Shaman, or potentially Warrior (with a bit more imagination).
As for being available at vanilla Shaman is Horde only which would limit you, and in that situation you would really only have the option of Orc for green Thor.
The other options, Troll and Tauren would both be significantly visually different.
In Vanilla though Paladins do have access to Hammer of Wrath which is very much Thor, but aside from that you are relying on the theme of “has a hammer or axe” rather then being able to do any cool lightning things.
They do have the option to be Human though so visually you might be able to do something more similar.

Well, really, Paladins-- specifically Prot Paladins-- are less like Thor and more like Captain America with the occasional hammer. Because if Avenger’s Shield isn’t a deliberate shout-out I do not know what one could possibly be.

How about a night elf? Once proud, powerful, defenders of the world, whom had their homeland destroyed along with most of their people and denied proper revenge thus forced to a miserable life of pumpkin growing amongst lesser lifeforms and possibly getting a Kul Tiran sized model to boot.
Follows MCU Asgard quite well.

Paladin is actually the best choice. From a D&D/RPG perspective, he would be a Paladin or Cleric.
Warrior is also acceptable.
Enhancement Shaman if you really want to have a lightning hammer.

I 100% agree. Simply we weren’t discussing Captain America though at the time.
When it comes down to it very little of the classes really hit the mark of a character like Thor.
Enhance Shaman comes the closest with Stormstrike and Crash Lightning on Live but OP was also asking about Vanilla also.
In that situation the only ability that realistically comes close to Thor in Vanilla is Hammer of Wrath. Which is why I brought that up as an option.

which thor? Weak thor or Dad thor? If its Dad thor, then kt enh shaman. If not, (dont play it at all) cuz there is ONLY DAD THOR!
