Trying to log in to play WoW - can't pass captcha check

I just changed my password because someone had changed it while I was playing (I was DC’d). I changed the password and tried to set up a mobile authenticator. I used SMS protect to verify myself, but the problem came when I had to enter the captcha. At first, I thought my vision was just really poor, but after doing 20+ of these, I KNOW that I have entered the caption in correctly at least once. Yet every time, it said, “Wrong code entered. Please try again.” Then I tried logging on Battle.Net on my computer to play WoW, but the exact same problem occurs. What’s causing this?

Definitely not good. Sounds like you’re in the middle of having your account hacked. Did you by chance recently get a message in-game from “blizzard” asking you to verify your account?

First thing I’d suggest is to secure your computer and your e-mail address. Make sure that they haven’t hacked into your e-mail and setup any e-mail forwarding.

Scan your computer with something like Malwarebytes to look for anything that you might have picked up.

Are you still able to access your account?

If so, the captcha thing might just be an issue with your browser’s cookies/cache. Try clearing your cookies and cache and then re-load the browser before giving it another shot. It’s also possible that with so many attempts, there could be a cool-down too, but I’m not sure on that.

Let us know how it goes or if you need more help.
