Trying to get SL Mogs is Miserable

And here we have the last stand of the defeated forum whiner. When you can’t rationalize your opinion you resort to insults.

Typical. Well enjoy your delusions and lack of xmogs/mounts while bemoaning the game being unfair. I’ll continue collecting mine and leave you to your misery.

lol

Anyway, Blizzard. The system sucks. You’ve got tons of people talking about the new player experience being miserable and only for the terminally logged in and farming SL is no different. It’s vastly different from previous expansions and it’s Not Fun.

Sadly, its the way it is. Come next expansion, people will be saying much the same thing about Dragon Isles Renown. Locking so many nice things behind Renown is lousy design until, or if, they decide to loosen the chains.

I still dont have the many of the mounts and pets from SL and I dread having to go back for them because of my dislike for the expansion, the zones and the gameplay.

The leveling campaign is probably the least rewarding campaign, but once you start doing max-level content there will be a ton of cosmetics, achievements, and feature unlocks as you go.

Each max-level covenant campaign awards a transmog set and Renown, and the Korthia and Zereth Mortis campaigns also award Renown for each quest (more than one if you are low enough), so you can grind Renown while doing stuff that you will need to do anyway.

Same, I worry about this. I’m back to grinding renown for DF and come next expansion, I don’t care if they loosen these requirements for other people. Why would I? It’s older content. I’d rather have the opportunity to play with friends who wanna stick around.

Just spam SL raid mog runs if you can. You’ll get heaps of renown drops off the bosses.

We used to be able to skip through the campaign if you had a toon. Now you can’t anymore. I, too, avoid SL as much as I can on alts.

I played many, many hours during Shadowlands and still don’t have all of the sets. I agree that it is a very time-intensive grind, and some of the sets are even locked behind daily RNG. (Maldraxxus world quest, Venthyr mirrors, Korthia dailies, etc.)

Is there a particular set that you are interested in? Maybe someone can provide you with a break-down of the quickest route to achieving that.

Just as a quick tip to preserve your sanity, I would advise going against the goal of unlocking every last set, until you have at least one toon that has unlocked all systems and skips that can possibly be unlocked, and you have multiple toons set up to farm the rewards locked behind quest spawns.

I would also recommend setting up 4 toons of different armor and weapon types, if you are interested in the covenant weapons, too. (You will have to do at least 16 covenant campaigns for the armor sets alone!)

For example:
—Warrior (most weapon types)
—Hunter (for bows)
—Demon Hunter (for glaives)
—Mage/Warlock (for staffs and wands)
Can unlock all weapon and armor appearances that I can think of.

Buy the thing to get to Renown 60 for all alts, then cap out on Renown 80 by doing covenant campaigns (which you will need to do on all toons anyway if you want every last transmog).

You can skip the leveling campaign now if you are at least level 60 (maybe 58?) and have done the entire campaign on at least one toon.

Sorry, people don’t play games anymore.
They have bots do it for them while they’re afk Tweeting their virtue and doing Bortnite dances.

Last time I checked, they removed that option. If you alt had already started it then they can keep going with the threads of fate, but otherwise you can’t

Was that toon at least level 58/60?

Maybe you could find the Fate dude/chick in the back of the inn and ask them to turn on Threads?

Thread of Fate has been removed from the game. I even opened a ticket about it and the GM told me they removed it 'cause I thought I was going crazy…

That’s ridiculous and not boast worthy.

No wonder so many quit during shadowlands.

Threads of Fate leveling objectives and zone quests have definitely been removed (unless you kept them from before), but level 58/60 toons can still “turn on” Threads of Fate to effectively mark the leveling campaign as complete so that they can move on to other content.

If you enter Oribos for the first time as level 58/60, the Fate dude/chick will approach you and ask if you want to turn on Threads (which is not actually the true leveling Threads experience—it just means you skip the leveling campaign). If it’s not your first time in Oribos, you are supposed to be able to find the Fate dude/chick at the back of the inn.

Nothing wrong with “you don’t do the content you don’t get the stuffs”

Yes it’s because they took it out when df launched.

A mistake.

Is it possible once I do the intro and get to orbios since we can fly in sl I can just fly into the raid castle right ? Seeing how they removed threads I’m not sure if I have to finish campaign or not to enter the raid

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. I just hate the fact they removed the option as a leveling experience :frowning:
