Trying to get SL Mogs is Miserable

I want something but don’t want to have to put in effort for it.

I fixed your post.

I mean I played the whole thing and I didn’t really enjoy it.

I made my own fun. It consisted of gold farming

No you don’t get to tell me what my opinions were.

Through coming through late SL, after everyone had done everything, I accidentally discovered a pretty quick route to it

1: Hit 80, pick your covenant, do the initial quests just for those first few bits. I’m still at this point on my hunter because its a drag
2: Do the Korthia introduction quests fully (speaking of areas that are a pain). This will give you an absolute heaping tonne of renown
3: You should have enough just from Korthia that you can just steamroll the story quests.

There may also be similar from the Zereth intro questline, but I was at max renown for that so I don’t know for sure

I gotta head back out to Korthia to get the mounts I missed out on at some point/endlessly farm devourers because they never drop the eggs, but that Korthia quest boost got me to max super quick

Thank you for the bump.

I assume you mean 70…? Unless you mean hit 80 renown?

Regardless, when every step has a caveat that it’s a drag / painful, it’s really worth Blizzard looking into fixing this in some shape or form. Auto-flying would be a start. Eliminating the renown grind would be another thing and just putting it behind quests.

bleh, yes. 70. You can tell I barely played SL with forgetting the level cap

But yeah. I had it easy as my main’s an engineer. The Shadowlands wormhole is downright essential to the point most folks went engineering on their alts just to get around

and speaking of flying I just remembered I never did get that fishing jellyfish from Zereth either. Another on the pile

Does this require you to switch covenants? I assume it does.

It is not a very fun game.

Feels too much like work…which isn’t what people want to be reminded of when they have a break.

It’s why I stopped chasing my sword mog so hard.

It was getting demoralizing.

Sorry, it is brutal. Just the original sets of every armor class total 64 unique sets. The amount of anima needed is vomit inducing. Running through the campaign will probably be one of the less painful parts.

ooo i didn’t know about this, thank you!!

Do I need to leave my first covenant to do this?

This is sad though!!! I get when Blizzard puts long questlines and challenges that deliver legendary items, or rare gladiator mounts for top arena players, or top mythic colors, or anything like that!

But these are vendor blues!!!

Very frustrating. I don’t understand why Blizzard can’t re-implement Threads of Fate and add automatic flying at the very least. Taking away ToF for new players / non-capped alts / those who didn’t play SL without offering a solution is whack.

The only thing I can think of that forces this for alts is the Korthia daily appearances… is that all you mean?

The campaign can be a bit long the first time around, but you can skip it afterwards, or you could in shadowlands at least if you did it once. Took me a few days back then. Renown is real easy to get at the end with the end zones too. And torghast. And ZM campaign.

I need 60 renown after completing the leveling SL campaign and picking my first covenant iirc for the first set I want. I need to get to 80 to get additional (I think) or just so I can get the rep tokens for switching covenants / unlocking more sets. That’s not including the anima I need.

ZM is a good place to farm anima. I know that much. Bunch of mogs to collect there. And the catalyst too which you can farm for lfr mogs with the epics off the vendor.

Bunch of cool mounts in ZM as well.

Honestly Shadowlands has some of the best cosmetics, don’t farm anima until you get to ZM I would say.

Blizzard is not forcing you to do it. You are choosing to do it, and seems like you are not having fun. If you want it, go for it but if you are not enjoying the grind for the reward, then the reward is not wort it.

I did it live, but I do recall there was a lot of renown catch up mechanics added. The main campaign really isn’t too long, and if you’re max level, you’ll whip through it, and on alts I seem to recall getting renown from campaign quests and all sorts of sources.

you lit cant skip it anymore they removed that with df …

I haven’t checked my new alts, in prepatch you could talk to someone to skip to endzones. But if you did it already. Not sure if that’s still a thing. I can check on my alts. Since you may ant to collect the skins for the four armor classes and stuff like warglaives for dhs.

All the grinding then I look at the Stygia and Anima costs… Sigh.
