Trying to get access to pet battle quests

First, it is/was not my intention to air my dirty laundry on the forums. I simply wanted to speak to someone live to resolve the issue and I don’t know how to do this as I don’t see any live chat available or a phone number listed anywhere to phone in to Blizz. I read your last reply on the topic you closed and that quest is not available to me on the toon in question. I have all the achievements you referenced on my account already earned (all the taming northrend, taming outland, taming cata, etc. achieves), not just the one achieve that unlocks the panda tamers. I really need some help because there is a break somewhere between my account that I’m seeing and your internal records that apparently has been caused by my transferring a toon to another account and than another account again after that. I’m pretty sure i know which toon it is that you’re referencing that has been moved to 2 accounts and it hasn’t been moved to 2 different accounts. It was moved to another account and then moved again within that same account to another server if that makes any difference.

Live chat is usually for billing issues, not for getting in contact with a Game Master.

There hasn’t been a phone number in years as people kept on abusing it.

If you ask in public, you will get a public reply. Kal walked you through the ticket reply so that you understand the difference between how achievement progress and quest progress are different. That is the key to why you have the achievement, but not the quest progress that unlocks the desired content.

The GMs handling the tickets were VERY thorough.

When you post here, and continue to push after getting a Blizzard response, it sometimes becomes necessary to outline the situation. Both for you, and others who might view the thread in the future.

As for “dirty laundry”, I’m not sure what that means. There’s nothing “dirty” about it. They simply reiterated the responses you got.

Your issue has been resolved. It’s not the answer you want, but that’s not what the Support tickets are for. If they simply just gave everyone what they demanded, well, I’m sure you can imagine the chaos.

Live Chat is for Billing and Tech Support, not to continue to argue with GM’s about an issue that’s been answered.

This would be a different issue. You would need to report it in the Bug Report Forum, so it can be looked into.

Having said that, the responses you got were pretty clear. They definitely looked into your unique situation, and found what you need to do. They cannot give game hints, and as such, you should feel very lucky that they pointed you to the quest you need. Normally, that information is on your own to find.

Customer Support is a forum for players to help other players. It is not a way to bypass the ticketing system. It is not Customer Service.

It is against the rules to keep posting or opening new threads once one has been locked, especially since you were pretty resolute in that you weren’t coming back here before Kalv replied to you. Also very against the rules to @ any of our Blues as you have with this thread.

You’ve been given what’s what, both by the GMs you’ve spoken to and Kalviery.

How is my ticket resolved when I now have new information? The quest they’re telling me to go and pick up is not available. It’s not there. There is a quest for a PVP challenge and that’s it.

I didn’t perceive it as such. These forums are often used for players seeking clarification and directions. Your topic was completely acceptable.

I provided the Game Master response because there appeared to be some confusion regarding seeing the achievement and having access to the content - which as the response explained, are different.

I closed the thread because you had expressed multiple times that you did not want to discuss it anymore. I didn’t want others to come into the topic and potentially derail it if you were no longer planning on participating.

If you’re having trouble accessing the quests on the Blizzard account that should have access to the quests then I would focus on that aspect in your ticket. Focusing on the achievements is likely to go nowhere since that is working as expected.

In the follow-up to the GM response that I shared, you seemed to have acknowledged the info provided by the GM but requested the quests be completed for you because you didn’t want to do them again.

So, to avoid any confusion between your request and the Game Masters I would stick to:

  • You are attempting to access Quest A on Character A and the quest is not available.

Keeping it simple like that should allow the Game Masters to look into what quests that character should have access to.

so go back to my ticket? to advise, on one of my other accounts that i 100% know for sure i haven’t done any of the achieves to unlock the tamers on and is at Quest No. 1 is also at that same tamer behind the keep in SW and there are no quests whatsoever available to that toon at all. not even the pvp quest. looking at this from the perspective you have advised i take in my approach to this issue, are there any known issues that you can see about this?

I just wanted to mention that the above is a major failing of this forum.

Closing a thread is the best way to preventing five post threads from turning into fifty post threads just reiterating what was already said in the first five posts.

Aye. Though, the Blizzard account you’re posting with does not appear to be the Blizzard account that has the open tickets.

Sorry, I meant to reply to this as well - I am not aware of any issues currently. I’ve not seen this type of problem reported before. Most “can’t see a quest” issue tends to be due to missing pre-requisites and not actual bugs.

is there a way to ignore all these people cluttering up this post? it has nothing to do with them and i’m finally receiving some assistance and I don’t really want to read all these posts from lookie-loos. their posts do nothing to assist me whatsoever.

I’d suggest simply choosing not to engage if you don’t want to. The forums are intended for this type of open discussion. So as long as they’re not breaking any of the Code of Conduct, they’re welcome to try and contribute/assist.

Often, they’ll be able to provide faster information so I’m actually glad they’re willing to spend time here and help out :slight_smile:

I’ll leave it open in case you receive some information from the Game Masters that you end up wanting to share here.

Folks will sometimes search the forums for info to see if someone else found an answer. So if you get some directions for the quests that end up helping you then please feel free to share them here.


As for others, I’d ask that you respect their wishes in this case and refrain from commenting further. They’ve received their advice and will be approaching this with the GMs. Thanks everyone!

Hi, so we finally got this sorted out. First, and most important, is to be aware that when you transfer a toon off one account to another, the achievements earned by that toon go with them. Since the toon that earned the pandaland spirit tamer achievement and who did the quests to unlock the trainers was moved off my account to another of my accounts, and even though my account was showing that I still had the achievement, I no longer had a toon on my account that had done the quests to earn the achievement. so you not only need an achievement to be earned, but you also need to have the quest progress on your account that earns the achievement - so because the quest progress left with the toon i moved off my account, it locked the spirit tamers and in order to fix this i had to re-do all the quests and re-unlock the achievement. This is a lot of work, so instead I paid for a transfer and moved the toon back to my account and contacted the supervisor who was helping me to let him know that this still didn’t fix the problem. I’m not entirely clear on this, but either the problem in the end was a combination of the toon leaving with the achievement and quest progress to another account plus the original issue that i will link at the end of this reply or it was just the issue in the link to follow. Either way, the hard lesson learned is to double check what will be effected by a character move and make sure that it won’t specifically effect something you don’t want to be effected.
