Woke up tuesday, did a quick solo shuffle and bought my pvp weapon. Enchanted and upgraded it and instantly went into a 2s match. Noticed I couldn’t use mutilate, turns out I bought a sword. I’m an assassination rogue so I can’t use a sword, at all, but I can still equip one for some reason. I can only use daggers.
The icons for the dagger/sword are very similar, which helped with the mistake that I made. I made a ticket within 20 minutes of buying the item but it doesn’t seem to matter. I’m just trying to get some help so that the end result isn’t me deleting over a weeks worth of conquest for nothing.
I remember in 9.0 customer support would refund a leggy made if there was a mistake within 24 hours. It must have happened so much, because now it’s an in-game system. I reported my mistake within 20 minutes. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with refunding the item.
There are warnings that enchanting and equipping will make the item non-refundable. Once it is, then sorry. It was up to you to make sure before you made it non-refundable that it was the right weapon. You are almost assuredly going to receive a no response to your ticket as the GM staff have almost always been fully hands off once you have done so.
Unfortunately, this is probably what is going to cinch a denial in your request, I think. If it were unequipped and unaltered, it would have probably gone through for an exchange/refund. As Jetsum said, there are usually pop-up confirmations to warn people that what action they’re about to take locks it to your character and unredeemable for refunds.
Perhaps we’ll all be wrong and the GM will be able to help, but I would honestly go in with really low expectations here. It was an error that sucks royally, but there are safeguards in place with all of those pop-up messages that so many people just blindly click and ignore for what they are.

I did a quick bit of searching to see if I could find something to add to this. I found someone in a similar situation. Let me preface sharing this as it is well over a year old, and their policies may or may not have changed. Even IF they are able to exchange the item, it’s very likely you’ll lose the points you put into upgrading it.
There is a help article I’m adding where it says that their CS will not refund any item, but this fellow was in similar shoes. Please do not post to that thread, as it will necro it. I’m just sharing it for it’s reference value.
Nercroing this lol. Just done the exact same thing and find it amazing this system still allows you buy items you cannot use after all this time. Feel completely ripped off. How hard would it be to be in spec purchase mode by default. Ridiculous.
Why on earth did this need a necro? If you want to see things changed, post in the PvP forum or General Discussion and lay out how you think it should work. Necroing this and posting here on CS gets you nowhere in that vein.
Player accountability is a thing. It’s on us to pay attention to what we’re buying. There shouldn’t have to be umpteen safeguards or locks to prevent one for buying something they cannot use.
