Lost Ark was obviously designed for Koreans. I don’t like the key layout and I don’t enjoy the anime vibe. I also think that it’s stupid that combat is literally just swarms of mobs being cleaved down by your many aoe abilities. They redid most of the voice lines, but the default Korean grunting noises drive me bonkers.
strange coming from a blood elf monk (eastern themed class, very anime inspired race and vibes, Sephiroth hair included)
I do the same thing in WoW, do you take on one mob at a time? must be boring.
I don’t like the grunts either, I give you that. But there are so many grunts and sounds in WoW that drive me up the wall also.
There’s an off-topic forum for a reason.
Are you going to give me a ticket?
Nah, just reporting as spam. Carry on.
Nobody fight’s 20+ mobs at once in WoW.
I’ve put in 12 hours so far, the servers are fine and the gameplay is good though it will take some time for me to get used to it. I’ve never liked moving by holding down a mouse button. The entire time I was playing it I thought they could’ve had you only using 4-5 abilities instead of 8, and have you move with WASD, not much would change if they did this honestly. But I’ll get used to it because the game is still fun.
The Lost Ark grunts are what I like to call “anime grunts”.
Have you heard female Blood Elf prot paladin? They sound like a wet cat being thrown down the stairs along with pots and pans.
It’s a ton of fun, was waiting for a western release for a very long time. It’s not fun trying to connect to Russian servers and dealing with a janky, fan made translation lol.
But Tera still had better combat and class abilities (they felt impactful, not just pretty to look at).
Tera was great until the first major patch which made BAMs weak, provide heal and mana orbs, and made all dungeons solo.
Its a Korean MMO at the end of the day, leopard can’t change its spots and all that. If you really like PvP may have some fun.
Eastern MMOs are focused on different aspects, ones I usually don’t care much for, but you may try it out and really dig it.
Considering Asmongold can’t handle 8 keybinds with any level of thought in WoW that seems right up his alley.
I wouldn’t base the endgame gameplay around the leveling experience. If you did that WoW would have an ungodly horrible combat presentation, too.
But that’s my favorite thing, pulling entire zones.
Not really, Torghast was designed as just another system everyone had to do. Torghast didn’t have any independent progression, it didn’t give gear or valor or anything, just a little trickle of one of like 12 materials needed for legendary. Having a solo queue for a minor like 1/32nd portion of the overall character stat progression is definitely not what OP is talking about.
I didn’t get to try out a bunch of side content in the beta because of the small time frame, but today finally looked into the collectable cards/armour dye/player housing and gems
Its the first time i’m motivated to do side quest to earn collectable cards for bonuses
Had no idea the player housing island had a full fledge mission table/ship yard/workshop crafter. Loving the progression on the front and completing missions
Put a few hours in it (around 5) I’m having fun, the story and voice acting is pretty bad but the combat is really fun once you get the hang of it. It’s free, so it’s whatever. I’m also really impressed with they music, it is quite good.
You can definitely tell this is a heavily monetized game, the interface is pretty awful and it has tons currencies like any other korean mmo. I am really not to happy with UE3 because it sucks but oh well maybe they will get it moved over eventually.
But there is something about it, I couldn’t quite pull myself away from it tonight. It’s a lot of fun.
These threads about non WoW a game even yet non Blizzard games are not allowed in GD FYI. They have to go here
If you dont move it Blizzard will and your account may get a strike
They’ll move it eventually if you don’t like it, don’t read it.
Just didnt want your account to get a strike.
