Speaking with a few other popular forum users i feel that the popularity comes with a the risk of people just reporting you cause they dont like your popularity… Or are jelous of the trust 3 priveleges.
I can think of a few long time posters who have echoed this sentiment, buti wont name names, if you’ve been around a ehile you’d know of them.
My main beef with the current system is the inconsistency with how some posts are moderated.
Oftimes a innocent humour post in a non serious thread can get flag bombed. And this sort of thing starts to deter people from making light hearted fun threads. Which i feel is kinda needed alot lately with the amount of vitriol that seems more frequent lately.
I wonder if theyve fixed people from using alts to flag bomb people. As that seems like it shouldnt be a thing. I dont hear anythimg about flagging abuse, but i imagine its the sort of thing that wont get mentioned at all on the forums.
Sometimes it feels as though different moderators are on different pages of what constitutes what when it comes to moderating.
I know and I already know some of their names. They’ve gotten a rep for rabid reporting, being extreme pc all the while and then they do the exact same thing and worse than the person they reported.
Blizzard is aware of this as well. Still, it’s not very important. Kinda like kids getting into a group and bullying others, online.
pfft, it’s dumb. There’s better things to do. I just think of them as tattle-turtles.
I would like to know their logic when they implemented this “trust level” system though.
I mean, I suspected as much. All the little cliques gossiping away on their discords. Groups, unable to function as individuals, determining what is ok and what isn’t.
I also wanted to add that I can confirm such discords out there do exist and people regularly link forum threads and often tell people to report them. One thing to remember is that there is actually a lot of rules most forum users break on a regular basis, but they just go unreported. And ultimately anything can be considered against the rules if a moderater deems it so.
I had seen someone else mention this before, I didn’t realize people could be so petty. I don’t know how to use discord, I think I’m better off without it.
Well we couldn’t post any active links on the old forums, unless it was wow related sites, would you rather go back to those days? At least now you can earn the ability to do so.
One of my favorite things about the new forums is notifications views and being able to see when someone is going to post. In the old forums we had to constantly refresh stuff.
As amusing as it is for me to think of the furious keyboard pounding of the upset masses, how unfortunate for the individuals that feel compelled to engage in this sort of behaviour. It’s quite sad.
Once upon a time, we couldn’t even have a lounge thread or ANY off topic threads. Rate that mog threads sometimes even got deleted. They are incredibly more lenient these days, trust. me. Shall we go count how many silly threads there are?
Also, your fun vs my fun doesn’t matter. If it’s a thread created for fun then it is a fun thread.
If it tells you you can’t post URLs (like it does for me) just highlight the URL in your post and select the “preformatted text” option </> (see image in link below).
