Trump is signing an executive order to prohibit transactions with Tencent

I mean, would anyone really be mad if Tencent and TikTok went away…

So standard Trump procedure, then.

Yes, because Blizzard is US based. Any Blizzard product could be potentially affected by this. Although they do have the option of choosing to just not be a US company anymore. He might think this is good for the economy, but in reality it may just lose jobs.

Tencent has a 5% stake in acti-blizz. They also have a stake 40% in epic games for sure.

Nice to see the American president upholding the values of the free market by banning transactions with a company he doesn’t approve of.

It’s because of this, that I highly doubt if someone decided to challenge this order in the supreme court that it would actually stick. I don’t think this order is actually legal.

To add to this, I think the guy just needs impeached again… Hopefully actually get kicked out of office. His blatant disregard of civil liberties, the American way, and his abuse of power is going too far.

Funny how china is the boogeyman in Western MSM yet no one questions what their own government does and don’t see how this is a stupid back and forth tit-for-tat chess political match to see who caves.

But you’re ok with your own country stealing your personal info? Asking for a friend.

Three Gorges Dam is probably a big reason why I wouldn’t compare any western nation to that eastern country IMVHO.

Well yes, if they move the company out of the country because of they can’t just drop their business partners which own a stake in the company… Then American jobs will be lost.

Strawman garbage arguments get you nowhere.
If you have a complaint with a US based company stealing your info, toss the Don an email.

We wouldn’t have a free market to whine about or the ability to whine about anything if we lost to China.

The President is given pretty broad powers when it comes to national security. That’s why he’s tried to frame everything he wants to push as a national security concern, because some of the powers from the Patriot Act kick in.

The difference in this case, compared to say his Muslim Ban, is that there’s actually reasonable justification to say this is a national security concern.
