Truly reprehensible posts should get you an account ban. Edit: I found out they actually do

Not a fan of it… but we don’t need our #1A so we can talk about the weather. Sometimes speech should make us feel uncomfortable. Not saying I agree with hate speech, but I do agree with our #1A.

that would be a different crime, such as disturbing the peace or trespassing if they ask you to leave, but you can legally stand outside on the sidewalk and say all the hateful things you want, i don’t recommend it, but you have the right.

plenty of people are spiritual but not religious have huge problems with organized religion. every church is unique to its congregation, so you can always find the worst or best ones to use in any example, but the fact that some are bad and hateful is still a fact.

Something tells me you don’t know what hate speech is.

Not worth trying to help educate those who don’t understand their own constitution and laws.

Best of luck to you.

ah, so either i agree with you or you leave, very MVP discussion.

A coordinated effort by one person using alts to flag you would get them into trouble. Many people on different Bnets thinking your post is spam, trolling, against the rules, whatever - is not going to get them penalized. Blizzard would rather have something reported and let the mods sort it out. Even if, in the end, the report turns out to be mistaken. People don’t get punished for being wrong. They get punished for abusing the reporting system on alts and such.

Hate speech is constitutional, just like burning the flag. This is why hate groups, with their flags and everything, can apply for a permit and march down the main city street spouting hateful ideas. The police even protect them while doing it because despite their position being vile, they have the right to say it in public on public land. Assuming they have proper permits, don’t break other laws, etc.

Inciting violence is not. They are not always the same thing. I am as against hateful speech as you likely are, but also accept that people have the right to hate.

They just don’t have the right to break private property rules without being shown the door. They might not go to jail for it, but nobody has to want the hateful person around or put up with them on private property. So you can boot them from your house, the forums can ban them, and a workplace can fire them.

They really should do away with MVPs.

Just paints targets on peoples backs.

No really, it is constitutional. Inciting violence is not, but despite how terrible it is hate speech is not against the constitution. It can get you thrown out of private property, fired, shunned.

It does not get you arrested, on its own. That is why the vile folks with flags get to march while protected by police. They have the right. Just like we have the right to tell them how vile they are!

You won’t win that one either.

well, there you have it.

It doesn’t matter ,if most of the community is behind it you’ll suffer from it. We are connected to the world outside of the game and forum anything there would affect what’s viewed here ,so be careful.

It is, actually. But there are addendums to it.

First Amendment protects it from government interference. But it’s not that simple. As we all know.

The First Amendment protects hate speech from government interference. But if hateful speech happens to fit into an unprotected category of speech, it may be punishable by law. Private people and organizations, such as social media companies, can also make their own decisions about what speech to allow in their spaces.

And thus my statement that it is not the Religion itself but the people who are violent and hateful that the LGBTQ community has a problem with.

Thank you for the clarification Sen

Yeah, it’s all sorts of complicated when it comes to things such as this. We’d need a lawyer to break it all down if we really want to get into the nitty gritty of it. And, well… I live with one. I don’t need more of that here.

That right there should be the last word on the subject, because it is the 100% correct one.

hate speech doesn’t exist. "It’s"also protected under the 1st amendment. Might not like what someone says, but cant silence them

With how much the mods don’t give a dang about context, a whole lotta people are gonna get wrongfully banned

Okay, I’m putting this here, because the last thread went poof and I want them to get this information:

You asked how to block on the forums:

There’s two ways to do it:

  1. Click on their name, go to “View Activity” and then in the upper right hand corner you’ll see “Normal” with a dropdown arrow on it. Click on it, go to “Ignore” and then select a timeframe.
  2. If their profile is hidden, go into your own profile, Preferences, Users, Add, then type in their name. Usually, they’ll pop up before you finish typing. Then select a timeframe, hit Ignore and then at the bottom, hit Save Changes.

Wrong thread,lol.
