Trouble with quest: Easing into Lumberjacking

I’ve already tried facebook, twitter, and bug reporting, as well as email. HELP! I’m new to the game, just got this quest called “easing into lumberjacking” in my garrison. Can’t complete it because it won’t let me highlight the tree. After looking this up on the internet, I discovered that players by the truckload have been, and still are reporting this very same bug, since 2014, and it has yet to be fixed. What is the issue here? I can’t complete it, after abandoning the quest over and over and accepting it again, restarting the client, etc. I don’t use add ons. I filed a support ticket to no avail. Someone please help!! Not sure why it hasn’t been fixed in FIVE years, but i’d like some help here.

Yes, i’m level 90. I wouldn’t be able to have a garrison period, if I were not level 90. This SAME BUG, all you have to do, is google it, and you’ll get nothing but results from over the past 2498232394238 years, with people asking them for help and asking them to fix the bug, and yet here we are, 2019, it’s still here, and despite using EVERY PLATFORM to ask for help, i’m being ignored. Amazing.

The tree is over by the mine enterance?
It is a single tree. Not just anyone.

You won’t get a reply in the bug report forum, you mentioned opening a ticket, you mean in game?

Twitter has BlizzardCS, not sure about Facebook, but the most active support group is via the support page,

Have you tried some of the suggestions on wowhead related to the quest?

If anyone is having issues with clicking on the tree you can get invited to another realm and it should work. I am on Kel’thuzad was invited to another realm and it worked. Hopefully this helps

For the alliance players, to get to the tree run south, exit your garrison through the main gate and the tree will be on your right.

It’s NOT by the mine entrance. It’s the ONLY TREE you have for the mission. Only option. It’s been bugged since release by my understanding from googling the issue, and they keep NOT fixing it, and people keep running into the issue over and over again.

I have tried twitter, in game support ticket, forums, email, and facebook. They simply don’t respond. I don’t have friends at my beck and call, to drop everything and invite me to their realm. It should go without saying, that they’ve let this bug sit in the game for 5 years, and now that someone needs help with it, they ignore them. So, here I am, paying 15 a month sub fee, and can’t play the game…

Calm down. It’s a game. One you CAN play, you’re hung up on a single quest, and you’ve been given other methods.

I’ve DONE those other methods. You’re being a “yes man” for blizzard, and ignoring the fact they’ve let the same issue sit in their game for half a decade. IF you can’t help, or contribute to solving the problem, go away.

I see your bug report from 3 hours ago. Did you open the ticket at the same time? Twitter and the forums are not staffed around the clock, but the in game ticket support is, though i am not sure what the wait time is it may be it just takes a bit longer to get your ticket answered. And it will be in the order it was received so leave it open.

The folks on Twitter CS are the Forum Support Agents who post here. They are there to post updates about maintence or current issues, and tell people how to get use the official Blizzard channels for help. It is not a place to get one on one help.

Bug Report forums are monitored by QA, but they don’t reply to individuals there. It is not a place to get one on one help.

Facebook is usually handled by social media folks, it is not part of the Support system.

The CS forum here is an Information Desk where you can get help finding the proper support means, explanations for policies, etc. Again, there are no GMs here.

Most bugs are not something the GM staff are allowed to help with unless the Devs specifically let them. They also don’t give game hints - they will point you to Wowhead for advice and work arounds.

That said, if you put in a ticket there should have been an answer of some sort, even if the answer is that they can’t assist you. What ticket category did you use and when did you put the ticket in?

Thanks. I constantly have problems with their support, in EVERY game i’ve played from blizzard in the last 20 years. That’s why i’m annoyed. They do this very same thing in every game they’ve ever made and it’s really frustrating. They KNOW about bugs/glitches/errors in their game and just refuse to address them, or help with them. Not a first for me.

Blizzard fixes bugs all the time.

Support staff are not QA or developers, just want to point that out to clear up a inconsistency.

When you put in bug reports, they technically are not tickets either, so if you mean you put in a bug report that is not actually a ticket. While a ticket will receive an answer one way or another, unless you cancel it.

Bugs do get fixed, but over time, changes to the game can actually cause old bugs to appear. I am not sure if either are the case for you, but you can try the work around mentioned, while waiting for your ticket to be answered.

I opened the ticket under bugs, and told them the whole scenario under which it happened, and how I can’t complete the quest. I also explained to them it isn’t a new bug, and that it’s been around since launch. No response. I messaged their twitter page. No response. I’ve messaged their facebook, on a post. No response. Emailed them. No response. I even tried discord, but they don’t address in-game issues there, so nothing came of it. Idk what else to do. True blizzard fashion though, i’ll say that. Again, no the first time i’ve had issues like this with their games, and i’m sure it won’t be the last.

Some bugs are hard to find so they can be fixed. Some bugs are lower priority than others. I think you’re entitled to be annoyed by an unfixed bug, but you’re acting like someone just needs to look at it for five minutes and it’ll be fixed, which is probably not true. Sadly, it’s also likely that a GM can’t help, but certainly not guaranteed, so hopefully you’ll get a good response to your ticket.

I mean I have an open ticket, waiting to be resolved. I got an email, that said they got my ticket, and waiting on a response. I just don’t understand 1.Why it hasn’t been fixed since launch. 2. Why they won’t respond. 3. Why I have to try and communicate with them on 242344232 platforms, to get ANY help at all?
