I like to use the “new” feature, the Single- Button Assistant. But i have Tendinitis and Nerve Compression, so it’s a problem for me to keep repeating the left button endlessly and fast to activate the ability.
So my question is.
There’s any program, or macro that can be done to just click once and it keep clicking ?
I saw that it’s illegal to have such a program or script, does it apply for this case ?!
Blizzard policy is one click is one action. This would likely get you flagged for cheating/automation. Do you have something more ergonomic for you you could map the SBA to? I recall seeing people use a trackball.
ETA: also, if you’re not playing in Legion Remix, may I recommend giving the Evoker class a test? I’ve noticed it has a lot of abilities with cast timers or channel timers, which reduces APM and might be a little easier on your wrists.
There isn’t any case - it’s a blanket ban on that kind of macro/program.
If I may? Try reaching out to the Accessibility team. While I have to add the caveat that there isn’t a guarantee you’ll get a reply back - usually anyone we send that way gets some kind of assistance.
I’ve just acquired a red dragon mouse with 15 buttons specific to MMORPG’s, it’s ergonomic but don’t solve the problem that i’ve on my finger.
I hope that the Accessibility team could provide some solution.
Really Thanks for your help
Hold to cast is a feature in-game. I’ve never personally used it so I’m unsure of how exactly it interacts with the Single Button Assist feature but it might be worth a look.
Note: do not use this feature if you are a Druid. It causes you to constantly shift shapes unfortunately.
If you configure a macro using the mouse software that performs more than one action per keypress, that is NOT allowed. The rule is 1 action = 1 keypress.
But, you can configure the mouse keys (using the mouse software) to allow them to be modifiers like Cntr+Shft, Alt+Shft as examples, and then use the in-game keybind system to bind a key to those modifiers.
Illegal isn’t the right distinction, really-- Blizzard just prohibits the use of such functions because of how it can be used to make the game unfair for other users playing the way it was intended.
It’s perfectly legitimate software for the hardware itself, and there are developers that support and sometimes even encourage using it in the way you’re seeking. Blizzard just isn’t one of those developers.
There is no distinction in this situation, unfortunately. The Single-Button Assistant is the use of your combat abilities, just simplified to one keybind instead of your entire KB/M or gamepad setup.
I would advise against that, honestly. It’s been a bit, but there were some sanctions going out at one time, where it seemed like it was stemming from people using their mouse wheel. Going too fast can come off too much like automation. We don’t know the specific timing or allocatment to be too fast or too slow. It’s risky, and not something I would either do personally or suggest for someone else to do.
If I’m understanding what you want to do (hold down a key and have it rapid fire), that is not allowed. You can’t use your mouse, keyboard, Microsoft accessibility functions, or any other 3rd party software to do that.
Nephe suggested a foot pedal. I’ve never used one, but I’m assuming you can bind the One-button feature to the pedal. I’d suggest looking into one of those.
Have you tested yet whether the Hold to Cast will help you? In theory it allows you to hold down one button and it perfoms that keybind continuously (obviously observing the in-game cool down period).
I do not know offhand if it will work with Single Button Assist since I’m unsure if the button needs to be released to use the next in that sequence or not.
