A lot of it could be condensed so easily. Like Ice Strike is just a clunky ability cause it is meh to press and then requires you having Frost Shock on your bar.
can this not be just a 2 press ability like Paladins Templar Strikes.
so many cooldowns, Doomwinds,Sundering,Ghostwholves,Primo wave, WIndfury totem.
like holy hell how are yall playing this so many buttons.

Ain’t no way y’all having fun pressing wind fury every pull when it should have a talent to drop when you flame shock or something like that.
The button bloat is extreme
Shaman has a 29 button Rotation… the 2nd closest to that is monk at 12… HOW ARE Y’ALL PLAYING THE GAME
It’s actually crazy cause at shadowlands PBE Searing totem was going to come back but the devs said it didn’t feel good to press something every pull that offered nothing but a low effort DPS increase if you didn’t.
If casting flameshock ( an ability you cast the leastc every pull) simply had a talent to make casting it drop a windfury totem would be such a QoL for two spells.
Ice strike then pressing frost shock is an unnecessary two button bloat especially when you basically can’t press them again until ice strike is off cooldown.

Windfury totem should be an aura. Ice strike should be a point that adds an extra charge for frost shock and adds a root (while still maintaining the aoe aspect of the talent) . Flame shock needs it cd removed. You should have the option into getting rid of having both lighting bolt and chain lighting, call it lighting strike and have it hit every target up to 5 thats affected by crash lightning.
I like having the buttons to push, but a few are redundant.

It’s funny because certain people here will tell you to get better while they parse grey and green. Enh does have button bloat and will likely get addressed at some point in the future.

When I rolled my first RShammy, I thought the same thing; after any run in any content (raids, dungeons, PVP) I always felt exhausted afterward.
But I love the class because it is the original bard class in WoW; there is a button for everything. There is always something to do if you want to play the class well, but is still a Jack of all Trades, but is master of none.
So what are some things that you can do to help make it easier?
If you copy help/harm macros that are easily found through Google, you will reduce your button bloat by a lot. Also, prioritize your most-used buttons in your keybinds to be the most handy. Lastly, get yourself a good Shaman WA from wago.
The rest is muscle memory and practice.
Yep! This is great advice. Shaman is a great class for obsessive button jammers … and I am pretty sure we don’t have 29 buttons in our rotation? Thinking of enhancement’s more complicated spec … elementalist …
Icefury. Frost shock. Flame shock. Lava lash. Stormstrike. Lightning bolt. Primal wave. Elemental blast. Crash lightning. (This build doesnt use windfury I think?)
Cooldowns.
Sundering. Wolves. Doomwinds (optional)
Only totem you’re ever dropping is healing stream.
Edit: forgot this part too, if you are using windfury totem you can get totemic projection in the general tree and macro it to stormstrike. It’s not on the gcd so you can move your totems around with you automatically.
But I agree with the guy above saying it should just be an aura or it should jump around with you without doing all that …

Hi @Anilahtion.
The above quote is really spot on. It’s pretentious for you to come in, brand new to the class, and demand it be warped to your desires. I’ve played enhancement shaman since I’ve been playing WoW, and Dragonflight’s iteration is the best it’s been in recent years.
I can’t understand anyone who ever says a class has too many buttons.
Especially this one, focused on enhancement shaman where there’s a build that just spams Stormstrike for 90% of global cooldowns!
Are you aware the standard qwerty keyboard has 104 keys? Are you aware there are mouses that have 10-20 extra buttons? Are you aware you can map Shift, Alt, Ctrl, Shift+Alt, Shift+Ctrl, for 5 times as many keys as I’ve mentioned? How about this one: Are you aware you can just put spells on your bar and click them? Sorry to sound grumpy, but these kinds of threads are so obnoxious. If you don’t want to push buttons go outside and play soccer or something.

You’re saying this when i pointed out a perfect rebuttal.
Pressing windfury or totem projection every pull is bloat.
Icefury shouldn’t exist it should just be frost shock and a talent to make it evolve from Frost Shock into Ice fury ( a 2 button combo)
Primordial wave synergy with lightning bolt i guess is alright it just makes you have to keep lightning bolt on your bar to cast it once every 45 seconds. this means another Cooldown basically you hardly have times where LB/EB isn’t up
You’re saying I’m simply being ignorant but no other melee is this convoluted
One quick note before discussing the specific changes to each spec, Searing Totem is being removed as a baseline button to all Shaman. Searing Totem was brought back in Shadowlands with the intention of Totems being a cool and iconic part of the Shaman class, but without significant redesign to the button to give it mechanical interaction and feeling impactful to press, it wound up feeling like just another cooldown you had to manage that didn’t have any excitement behind it.”
This is what the devs told us when they removed Searing totem in the Shadowlands PBE… this point is entirely relevant to current windfury
Ascension( while RNG it effects the spells you’re about to press) and Primordial Wave

If you want that, just make an icefury frost shock cast sequence macro. They work just fine.
I already did but if it has to work like that just make it work like that inately

It doesn’t have to work like that, it just can. Like i said earlier, I’d rather it just add an extra charge to frost shock and bake in the aoe damage, so tou just have frost shock. You can use it after maelstrom dumps for biggger hits, or because it’d have a second charge, use as a filler.

Check mine ; -)
Really don’t think enhance suffers from button bloat in the slightest. I still have dumb keybinds leftover for multiple mounts, extremely situational spells, water walking, every utility totem in the class tree, etc.
I think people just look at the learning curve for playing enh optimally (one of the more steep curves relative to other dps specs, especially elementalist build) and get overwhelmed. They want it to be simpler to so they can play it optimally with less thought attached, to which I would say no, just put in the training dummy hour or two and learn it.
oh and feral lunge baseline, thx blizz : -)

We do not have a 29 button rotation lmao
Welp there are other classes that have less buttons and less to track. DH and others

maybe when they bring back 2h enhance next expansion everyone will be stuck playing the phys build so they can gawk at those leet wf chains they worked super hard for
ya ice strike and ice fury are trash. Adds uneeded bloat to the rotation.

I’d love for people who claim DH is easy to actually try DF DH. It’s harder to play than most specs out there.
Most is a stretch. It’s still pretty easy.
