I am asking as a matter of general interest, since its something we could do before and despite looking around I couldnt find a way to do it now. I thought I might be missing something and asked because many people here have a more indepth knowledge of the game than me.
To change the time phase for Blasted Lands you need to actually go there and talk to the Bronze Dragon lady. So I decided to test Vincent’s method.
I talked to Zidormi and set it to ‘present day’. Did the whole Undercity-portal-Hellfire Peninsual and no, the portal was blocked to me.
Went back and talked to Zidormi and set it to ‘in the past’. Did the whole Undericty-port-Hellfire and no, the portal was blocked to me.
So it doesnt matter what setting Blasted Lands is on, the portal is blocked.
People keep telling you how to get to the Blasted Lands, but you keep turning the conversation to wanting to run through the Dark Portal. If you want to be in Hellfire Peninsula, the best way to get there is very different from getting to the Blasted Lands.
My original post asked a simple question - is there a fast travel method from Orgrimmar to the Blasted Lands? That is what I wanted to know. In this video from 2015, for example, it shows where the portal to Blasted Lands used to be.
I was curious if anything similar still existed. Other people suggested (for my Horde toon) doing the Undercity-portal to Hellfire Peninsula-walk through the Portal to Blasted Lands, which I said on a couple of comments didn’t work.
The answer to my original question appears to be - No. There is no fast travel method. That’s it, really.
Awww, you wasted a rez on my post from April last year but…I did say “fast travel method from Org to Blasted Lands”, and I actually figured out the answer last year to my question was, no, there is no longer a fast way.
Rez only b/c I had the same question. Answer is yes there is a quick way from Org to Blasted Lands. In the portal room in Org (Pathfinder’s Den), go downstairs. In front of the portal to Shattrath, click on Thrallmar Mage. You can click on “I must report to the Dark Portal.” You will immediately teleport directly in front of the dark portal.
Thanks for the update. This must have been a relatively recent change because as I mentioned in my post, that mage used to send you through to Outland.
PS: it apparently only does this if you have the zone set to WoD time. If its at old Burning Lands, you still get sent to Outland.
And that is a good point. I tried it earlier and was indeed sent to the Portal - where Khadgar was standing with this ! mark which I assume is for WoD. So I am going to test it on a character which has the zone set to original timeline. Thanks for that comment.
Edit: You are correct. A character with the setting for old Blasted Lands still gets sent through to Outland.
That’s correct - if you have Burning Lands set to WoD timeline. If you have it set on old Burning Lands, you still get sent through the portal to Outland.
Can you PLEASE make portal travel more simple. Trying to find a portal from Orgrimmar to Undercity is ridiculously confusing, not to mention the portal I found to Undercity in Orgrimmar doesn’t seem to work. I can’t even click on it.
I normally play Alliance, but I also play Horde sometimes and traveling to the Eastern Kingdom is just too confusing. So I had to go from Ratchet to Booty Bay just to get to the Eastern Kingdom in the game. It should NOT be so complicated.
Please simplify Travel in Azeroth for all players. It would be very appreciated. Thank you.

It was the portal in the center of Orgrimmar you can see the portal clearly and it says Undercity but you can’t click on it. Also, I just discovered you can’t fly outside of Silvermoon… ouch! That is lame. I hope Blizzard allows flying at least outside of Silvermoon city - it’s ridiculous. I been playing WoW since it came out and I just learned about this no-fly zone in or outside of Silvermoom city today lol. Oh wow! I feel like a noob… lol
Well, Ive never had a problem with it, not sure what your problem is with it. Maybe search the tech or bug forms, see if anyone else has had any issues.
If you mean the flight point in Undercity says “you dont know any destinations” or whatever it is, yes, its an ongoing bug and annoying. Its almost certainly something to do with the BfA phasing.
Honestly, I wish Chromie would offer to teleport you to locations when you choose them via timewalking.
It’s incredibly frustrating having to run there for low levels, and I bet it’s confusing to new players. You can use the toy, sure, but new players probably don’t have the gold to pay 10k each.
