It does nothing to fix frost traps at instance entrances either. Only a proper diminishing returns system would. But that is more work to implement.

Blizzard will you think of the Hunters? You are severely nerfing Hunter traps in PvE! How will they overcome a 20 year old game with such overwhelming mechanics?! How am I going to explain this to my 3 wives and 14 kids?

Terrible game altering change for hunter PVE, please think for 5 mins before just gutting the playstyle of a class. Just make adjustments to Entrapment and most of the issue would have been solved in pvp

Please see this post on this topic

Not a good way to fix the issues imo.

Your post is amusing its not just a 20 year old game the runes effectivly change the game the only class being asked to run as close to baseline vanillia is hunters. The Nerf wasnt needed to the extent it took place

This was necessary.

Frost Traps in combat is already very strong.
Being able to launch them from spellcast range was making it too easy and risk free to create a barrel with which to shoot fish in.

They’re still going to need to tune the damage on explosive trap, for it’s similarly outsized effect, ease of use, and low cooldown, but this is progress.

Just dont use that trap.

Then I would like them to nerf rogues ability to stun lock, warriors three charges or pulls, shamans as a whole, locks cause well they are locks and pallies because they are pallies… Everyones issue was hunters were no longer sure kills in pvp, no we are again

How to actually fix hunters traps

  1. Revert this most recent change
  2. Entrapment cannot be triggered from a launched trap except for the activation trigger, no linger from the persisting effects.
  3. Explosive trap damage redistributed to 20% rap on the initial hit and 30% over the dot duration.

O wow! Its now much more balanced in utility and damage without altering the playstyles user.

Hunters can already CC lock, not so much damaging someone while they’re stunned, but constantly able to CC them to get distance or interrupt spell casting.
For example, Freezing Trap is the best PvP interrupt in the game at the moment. It also bypasses Paladin Aura Mastery spell interrupt protection.
Warriors limited to melee.
Shamans were nerfed heavily in Phase 3 and Phase 4. (Burn rune is still an outlier and needs changed, but so is Explosive trap, more so as it’s not target capped and has a longer range and more damage for only slightly longer CD).
Hunters have been mandatory in PvP premade 2/4 phases and have been sure picks in all of them.
Hunters have received so many nerfs because they start at the top of phase every time, the buffs with the new phases have been consistently outsized in one way or another.

It’s called retail bud. The same shadow priests that are kicking and screaming every phase don’t realize the changes they want are all in retail.

This possibly the worst way of fixing this issued. This kills it for pvp AND pve. I encourage you guys to reconsider.

It’s kind of wild to realize people that are not devs in this game have better ideas on how to fix this, than the actual devs.

Thats because the DEVS dont play the game
