ugh I hate pointless features, mine loves taking screenshots cause I squeezed both sides while trying to turn it off.
When people know better they can do better but that doesn’t mean they will. Some people are stuck in their ways, especially with the anonymity of being online and trolling. Kids are HARSH these days.
I myself was told one thing growing up only to see it from a different point of view as I got older, (mid 30’s now) and even though I see it from that different point of view today, it doesn’t mean I accept all walks of life now.
It’s just the way I was raised and one of my many struggles I have to keep in check at times. I’m not hateful towards different ways of life, but some of it makes my eyebrows raise.
That’s just me and my choice. I know better, but it’s hard for me to “do better”. I was raised in a pretty hateful environment at times with old Catholic values instilled in me I try to keep at bay to this day. Not a devout Catholic now but allot of the mentality stuck with me.
His statements shows that he really does not understand anything about the Bible or what it is trying to teach. The thing that ruins faith for people is not the faith itself but the people that practice the faith. The people that turn faith into a weapon to hurt others, instead of treating it as a way learn how to love others despite their “faults”.
No, he’s actually correct. My ancestors were slaves and I am not. People do get more accepting, but some people forget the history.
You don’t have to be friends, room mates, date, or otherwise associate with someone who you don’t find agreeable. You do not have to accept anyone you don’t like into YOUR life.
All that is being asked is that people just don’t hurl insults, slurs, threats of violence, or actual violence against those they don’t understand/feel comfortable with. Let them live their life without others inserting their abuse into it.
It is not like a person talking about a talent system is attempting to borrow your things, hang out in your house, or steal your partner.
The rabid hatred against someone who caused no harm, is just unfathomable to me. They are not hurting anyone. Just leave them be.
The hatred toward someone who’s done nothing is ridiculous. I agree with that.
I wasn’t excusing it. I was saying how many people feel, no matter how much some people don’t want to hear it or believe it. I do believe this also has to do with where a person grew up. I have lived in many different areas of the US, from the east coast, west coast, south, etc. , and I will tell you this, it is VERY different depending on where you are as to what is accepted or not. It’s almost like a whole different world. You can’t equate your experience to it being the same for everyone.
I personally always try to look at both sides of the coin and not necessarily paint one side all bad and the other all good. We all can improve and do better, but if we can all at least try to look at things from someone else’s point of view, this world would maybe be a bit better place and people wouldn’t be so vile and hateful.
And also, I said I didn’t see the comments in the stream because I didn’t watch it live. I watched it later on YouTube. I saw it here how the person was treated. I wasn’t excusing it by any means. But no matter how much you or anyone else wants to believe it, many people were raised and taught it was wrong and you can’t just wave a magic wand and force them to accept something as normal their whole life they had been told was wrong. Life doesn’t work that way and as I said, times change.
But regardless, it does make me sad to read here how that person was treated and I applaud them for being themselves. We all should be ourselves and we all deserve to be treated with the same respect.
We are ashamed of you too.
Did you see this hatred on YouTube? Or twitch chat?
Either way - you have no idea of knowing who was behind the hatred and whether they are a part of this community or not.
Gets even worse when you realize that the folks talkin’ like that are 40 year old men.
That has been a cycle on rinse and repeat for thousands of years. We like to think we’re better because we (in a first world country) don’t physically chain people anymore. Slavery has, and always will, exist. It doesn’t have to always be ugly, nor apparent, for it to be present.
Tell me about it lol. Remember a few years ago when we found out there were holocaust deniers? I have ancestors, conveniently made of ash, who say otherwise.
I was taught many things were wrong. I personally have chosen not to engage in things I feel are wrong. I never ever felt that it was ok to see someone on the street and hurl abuse at them for doing whatever I was taught was wrong.
In this case, existing. I just can’t ever defend that kind of abuse by trying to rationalize that people were taught it was bad. Were they also taught to attack? Were people really taught to go up to people the suspected of being different and attack and abuse them? If so that is horrible.
We agree on this part.
I mean to be fair, the Blizzard forum moderator is probably mad that one of there trans employee got attacked for no reason. Why else would they not delete this post? it’s still up teach those people a lesson.
Yes, so they can understand how grotesquely immoral it actually is. It outlaws men dressing up as women (literally), punishes male homosexuality with death, holds women as inferior to men, commands the incineration of the “escort” daughters of priests, sanctions slavery, genocide, “human trafficking”, and mountains more.
The crucifixion of Jesus is easily one of the most immoral implications in the bible. He sacrificed himself to himself under conditions he had full control over himself so that he could save humanity from himself and ultimately be satisfied with himself. Sacrificing a man to meet the conditions of a supernatural deity or event is blood magic. And that doesn’t even go into the grossly immoral concept of inherited sin that was established in the creation story. People should read the bible, so they know exactly how not to think or live.
A WoW expansion reveal attracts people who play, used to play, or are interested in WoW - hence the broader WoW community. That is what this thread is addressing.
The small good part is, that there were also people in those chats who pushed back and told folks to stop being vile. That it was uncalled for.
It was not everyone, but the flood of hate was very very very noticeable. That is what this thread is about.
I turned off the chat because the rolling text was distracting me, but what happened? Is this related to what appeared to be the transgender employee?
You have no idea what you are talking about. If you really think the western world socially hasnt gotten better in a 100 years you are actually deranged or just super ignorant.
I’m reading through these comments, and it is still apparent that the wow player base still jumps at the opportunity to trash talk at biblical proportions. Ever since the stream today, there has been so much talk about the trans PERSON and it disgusts me that a GAME can still apparently welcome such derogatory stigmas.
As a Catholic myself It’s a hard pill to swallow some of what the Bible has taught me over the years. All I know is Jesus died for our sins and that God is a merciful being that gives us free will.
Jesus loves everybody. God loves everybody. I believe I’ll be reunited with my loved ones upon death. And that’s about as far as I take it. The Bible has been rewritten so many times over its lifetime that we have no idea if half of its fake or some of its fake or all of its fake.
We’ll never truly know and to sit around and claim you do know is laughable.
Yes.
It is about how the chat community on Twitch/Youtube, and streams, spewed vile things including death wishes when a Dev who presents as gender fluid or trans was on the video talking about the talent tree work they did as a senior game systems designer.
I have met the person in question back in 2018. They have been at Blizz a long time and are very very good at what they do for analytics. Nice person too and I adore his partner. She is a very sweet person.
