Transmog Staffs into 2H Melee Weapons

Why can’t my dk transfigure staff appearances? Why can’t he even use staffs?

A druid without thumbs can use them and my DK, who can raise the dead from their graves, can’t?

Come on!

Because you can’t equip them

I am physically capable of using a stupid staff. My character has two arms and a hand in each of them.

The fact that you think just having two hands is sufficient to use a “stupid” staff just shows how little you can use them.

DK does not have proficiency with staves.

Can hunters use staffs?

They sure can. Sticks are good for hunting.

May the light not allow the Dk to have to go through an unavoidable difficulty that involves a staff because otherwise it would be the end of the ebon sword.

You have no training in using a staff effectively in combat

Being able to hold a weapon and being trained in its use are entirely different things. The Death Knight instructors probably didn’t care about staves both because they tend to not have a lot of room for engraving runes on, and because they’re typically caster fare and thus not made to inflict pain in the way DKs crave.

I can hold a Samurai Sword in real life.

If I tried to use it in a fight, I’d get myself killed.

That’s not how the game is set up. Doesn’t matter what you can do. Take entitlement down a few notches.

I want to put a bit of a more lore-ish answer out there. A big thematic element of death knights is their runeblades. It’s most prominently represented as swords of course. But axes and polearms also have blades. So runes on them, that fits. Maces is obviously a bit more of a stretch, but I think it can be justified. Some maces are structured essentially as a bunch of blades around a handle. But I also like to think of it as a slight nod to the old wc2 death knights, who carried truncheons. Albeit big, magical truncheons.

You better believe you can fit a whole lotta rune on those bad boys.

(also, cracking bones with a sledge probably does a lot for their need to inflict pain)

In today’s lore you can justified almost anything.

If you can justify those…Dracthyr things…and the friendly centaurs, you can justify staffs for the DKs.

“Deathwing made a subservient race of soldiers, therefore death knights are trained in staff fighting” yeah champ, I don’t see the connection.

Your lack of vision matters me not.

It would be nice as a way to open them up to more scythe transmog options.

The thing is, I bought a staff at that thing where you buy transmogs, but a BO staff, and I want to use it with my Panda DK (I only play DK), because that stupid restriction!.
