Transmog Roll should mean something

I did one LFR yesterday and got 3 gear piece upgrades. I woulda been sad if someone had swiped those for “Transmog”

See, this is entitlement. You believe your ilvl is more of a justification for a reward than an appearance. It isn’t. You just personally feel that is the case.

Ilvl is temporary and those pieces are replaceable, but xmog is forever. Because of the lasting value of the xmog, people that roll for temporary ilvl are the ones with less justification for the need roll, IMO.

Childish and entitled. Very thankful for more solo/flex content because of this sort of player.

The problem with rolling for transmog is that there will always be someone rolling need for ilvl, even at the end of a season. Transmog rolling is only really effective in guild runs for this reason. It would be great if appearance was separate from the item itself, like the OP suggested. As it stands if you want a mog and you roll for mog you’ll probably never get it.

You can’t expect everyone to follow the honor system. If a piece drops that you want the appearance of, you’re either a jerk with a chance at transmog or a sucker with no chance at transmog.

In addition, delves make it easier for everyone to get decent gear without having to rely on groups, so the “they can get better loot from other content” excuse becomes even more of a tempting reason to roll need without a guilty concience.

OP’s suggestion makes sense (and as others have said, this idea has been brought up multiple times).

Until blizzard changes how the rolls work, roll need for transmog.

Transmog needers are more virtuous because at least they don’t inspect-stalk and harass everyone who wins a piece they wanted.

Yeah jerks like you were the reason why personal loot was a thing for a while.

My transmog is more important to me than your power.

I don’t agree with your methods but I do like your solution

That’s fine, but still your choice. Just like you have the choice to pass with GL. (Another advantage of GL since you can actually give up a small ilevel upgrade to someone who might need it more)

Something you don’t need to type when you can pass

With PL you chose need for every item as soon as you queued up, whether you wanted it or not.

LFRs been my primary raid since SL. I actually use my loot. But I have no problem with anyone else rolling need against me for any reason.

It effectively doubles the loot in LFR.

I’m not disagreeing nor excusing it but no one at blizz saw this as an inevitable outcome? The roll understandably gets beaten out by anyone who needs it…so if you want it as Tmog you’re going to hit need. Again don’t think it is right but how was this conclusion not met near instantly?

Eh I disagree with this. Player progress and getting stronger is a rather important part of feeling accomplished in a game genre that technically only ends when the servers shut down. I don’t think an appearance should trump actual upgrades however how they didn’t just make it a separate item being won is confusing.

Im 100% down for this seems great most of what i farm is for transmog anyways

No, we’re not. Your inability to understand that speaks volumes.

Oh, so you’re not playing for yourself? You’re out there playing for random people you’ll never meet again, and not after your own goals?

Great. You won’t mind if I need that xmog then, you altruist, you.

I’m playing for myself but I have enough judgement and empathy to understand that I am playing with other people and thus consider their feelings and experience while playing. I shouldn’t have to explain that to you. Again, you just don’t seem to understand that. And again, that says a lot more about you than you should be comfortable sharing.

Do you? You seem pretty inconsiderate of people who are playing exclusively for transmog.

mogg is the real end game. Moggs last forever stats only last till next patch

Of course you’d think that. You have a good evening screaming into the void now.

Honestly, I think that’s a BRILLIANT idea!! :tada:

Blizz could also haul in deeper restrictions with the Need / Greed system that way too, so people aren’t rolling on gear that’s a downgrade for them – which happens, A LOT!!

  • People on the forums are braindead morons when they genuinely believe they have the “right” to roll ‘NEED’ on an item for vendor gold, even though they have something better equipped and someone else genuinely needs it for an upgrade.

Transmog on the other hand is a heated topic for the need / greed scenario though … So yeah, if you’ve got a better item or perhaps it’s not even for your class loot spec — Having a separate “Secondary” roll, at a chance to purely roll for transmog would be fantastic.

:game_die: So for the same item:

  • Someone gets the physical gear, between the needers & greeders.
  • Separate ‘transmog’ roll of the same item, gets rewarded to the highest transmog roll. They collect the appearance but not the item.

It’d be particularly great for LFR too — Especially if they let the highest two or three ‘Transmog Roll’ peeps get the appearance, as a bonus incentive. :dracthyr_nod:

Your self-righteousness is hollow. You are exactly as selfish as those rolling for tmog, but act like it is different. You want to punish players who put in effort to get better gear than you did.

All transmoggers care about is getting their fair shot at a roll. Win or lose.

They might need to update every loot table with a cosmetic version of every item that can be rolled for transmog.
Not sure what mechanics would be involved to just unlock a mog from the items in a loot table.
It kinda happens when you get mog unlocks when you have a choice of items so I believe that itʻs not impossible, just not sure how comlicated it would be.
