It’s not about transmog per se. It’s about each change normalizing more changes. You can see it in this thread, and every other thread discussing changing the game. There’s the argument that since XY have been changed, let’s just go ahead and change Z.
The more you change TBC, the more demand you’re going to see for more changes, and they’ll use past changes as their justification. Before anyone says slippery slope - shut up. As I said, you can see it happening in this very thread. It’s not imaginary lol.

I don’t know what that means.
I love transmog in retail! But part the most memorable times in TBC was being in full tier 6 just chillin on a bear mount in org. Gear wasn’t just gear, it separated you from others in small ways. Differentiation was good. Adding it into TBC or WotLK would be taking away from that and I think anyone who played back in the day would likely agree with that.

All these no changes but I don’t recall anyone able to become a Belf or Goat in prepatch 15 years ago.

I would love transmog added to the game. Just makes sense. I played through the crazy gear once already. Probably the only thing Retail does better. Classic is much better than retail, but transmogging ugly gear is an awesome feature.

Having your character look ugly and plain and slowly acquire interesting looking gear is a key part of character progression which is the main point of WoW as an rpg

The gear is amazing in TBC and Wrath, why would you ever transmog from them, I’m also certain the majority in retail tend to transmog Tier 6 and that’s why they remade it for Tomb of Sargeras
