You can still RP and put on RP clothing in Classic. You just hold pieces you find aesthetic that you want to RP in. I have a few reasons why Transmog is not right for Classic WoW.
Prestige. Wearing certain items indicates something you achieved.
PvP. It’s strategically advantageous to be able to identify the weapons and armor your opponent is and is not using. This is why a lot of PvPers hide their helm; to prevent their opponent from knowing they have Goblin Rocket Helm on or something like that.
Ok, you dont really know how transmog works, and thats fine, almost none of the people that dont want it do either. But, you have to actually do the raid/pvp to get the gear that you want to transmog, some kf us just dont want to look like absolute clowns because full sets are not and have never been BiS.
Classic raids were cleared by non max level characters in quest greens, so the gear is not the statement you thought it was 2 decades ago.
SoD pvp has no honor decay, so anyone who wants the pvp gear will eventually get it. So pvp gear isnt reserved for actual no-life andys.
Lastly, if you cant tell at a single glance of the healthbar of the naked warrior charging you with a shovel that his real gear is very very powerful, you were going to get flattened anyways.
Again, we understand your reasons why you want xmog
We tell you our reasons but just brush them off like they don’t matter. They do matter, they just don’t matter TO YOU.
Again, we said if we have a toggle option to NOT see everyone’s xmog, then we are fine with it. We do not want xmog if there is no toggle option.
There is a reason pvp players hide their helms and cloaks. They are hiding items for a specific reason, and xmog lets you do that with every item you can equip. Health bars aren’t even apart of the point. It’s actually 0% related to hiding items and why to hide them
I’m sorry, but a full bg full of naked pirate hat gnomes is dumb and doesn’t belong in this game. So the people who want that can share it amongst themselves while the rest of us turn it off. We have reasons for why we don’t want it. They may not be your reasons, but it goes both ways.
I mean, if your reason is “Gear should mean something” well it doesnt, any content you can do in classic era is so easy that it got speed ran by non max levels. Also, if they have the Xmog they beat the raid for thr gear.
Those items that they hide, have cooldowns. ALSO, you already know that theyre wearing the items. If something is meta and you do not anticipate it, thats why you lost. Healthbars absolutely give you information about the players your fighting.
Annnd bud, youre playing a game with mulitple “go collect poop XD” quests, pop culture references, the gnomes/goblins themselves are comedic races who regularly wear spinny google eye goggles and satelite hats. Or are you more of a grown man wearing green goggles, skintight leather and ripped purple yoga pants kinda guy in your very serious game?
These threads are pointless, retailers are obessed with “looking cool” and slutmogs. Arguing with a brick wall that no mattee how many times or ways you explain problems will still be too buck broken to respond in a meaningful way other than “nuh uh”.
Completely irrelevant to the point given. There was a poster above who explained it perfectly. Retail gear is numbers related, and gs in classic isn’t telling the full story because some low ilvl items are bis like edgemasters for example. Someone clearing a raid with undergeared under leveled toons is completely irrelevant to how classic gear is entirely different than retail gear.
Yes, they have cooldowns. Meaning they are not always up. A player wearing rocket helm and not hiding his helm is a pretty clear indication that I’m going to skull out of it. A player hiding the helm may not be even wearing it BECAUSE it’s on cd.
And no, health bars have absolutely nothing to do with player information. Do you think people are out legit pvping naked? What does his HP bar tell me about the cooldown based items he is wearing like skull of impending doom or rocket boots?
It’s funny how you typed out all of this absolute trash nonsense and still managed to completey dodge the most important question in the entire thread
Let’s readdress the question at hand shall we?
Should we get the option to turn off transmog visuals, should they include it?
If you have the player choice to have xmog, do we not have our player choice to hide it?
Or do you believe this should be forced on us?
Is your opinion better than mine? Let’s see what kind of person you are
Obviously i dont address that. If there is a toggle that means that transmog is already in the game. I never had anything against a toggle, because that just means we have transmog. Calm down
Cool, we can close the next xmog thread then since you guys keep making the same exact posts and giving your reasons why you want it and arguing against our reasons.
I never argued against a toggle since, per my previous post, having the toggle necessarily means transmog is in the game, and coping weirdos can “turn it off”.
Im arguing with the Hard No crowd because every reason they have for no xmog has no basis in logic. They argue from a completely emotional and nostalgic standpoint, and I’d rather the game i like to play not be an echo chamber of time-lost busy bodies stuck 20 years in the past.
The only ones coping are the extremely creepy weirdos who want xmog forced on everyone. It isn’t actually about you, you want everyone else to see your transmog.
But hey, that’s already over isn’t it? You agreed to a toggle but didn’t actually want to agree
That’s why you continue your ad hominem personal attacks after a boundary has been agreed upon.
I said i never dissagreed with it man, what is wrong with you?
Nobody is forcing you to transmog bro, youre in your own head with that.
Im not ad homming, they are completely stuck in the past, and thats fine, they hace classic era servers anx hardcore servers that has everything exactly as they remember it.
This version of the game is not classic era
Then we can stop responding in this thread. You’re the one who followed up after a boundary was established with more insults.
Case is closed. Toggle. I don’t want to see your xmog and you can have yours to yourself or whoever else wants to see it. Has nothing to do with nostalgia. That is your presupposition - a logical fallacy
Why do you not want to see my transmog, when ive already stated, that personally i will be using it to have complete sets because BiS breaks set aestetics?
What reason other than nostalgia do you have? Nostalgia isnt my presupposition, because as you know I’ve been going back and fourth with the argument. No reasons that were given had any basis in pragmatism
Because I prefer to see what people are actually wearing legitimately in the game.
It’s like going to a mall irl and everyone is wearing exactly what they put on before they left.
I would prefer that over naked pirate gnomes with a shovel. I’m not sure how wanting a realistic view of the game world and it’s players bothers you so much. It has absolutely nothing to do with nostalgia. You are just throwing that term out at random with not a hint of basis to back that claim up. I do not play this game for nostalgia. I play it cause it’s fun. The nostalgia excuse is so weak and quite frankly pathetic at this point.
I knew though that you secretly don’t want a toggle. You gave yourself away with that reply
But it doesn’t matter anyways, you agreed to a toggle option! Meaning I will never look at your transmog-which was entirely the point of xmog anyways. It isn’t about what YOU see, you just want everyone else to see you
If you cant glean that a warrior with 7k ho or whatever has fat gear and you dont cc him, thats on you. And, dont give me that ‘but i could tell just by looking at him’ weak piss argument. You can see their healthbar far faster than their gear models.
Also
Blizzard arent going to make a toggle btw.
Its either in or its not.
Be realistic.
