Speaking of textures, more refined updates for old armor would be really cool. I don’t see it happening. Anytime soon but still, fun to think about.
I does make sense when the majority of games use actual 3d models instead of just applying the texture over the characters bodies.
Look, you have your opinions and I respect that. You just can’t deny that the lines between armor types in World of Warcraft are fuzzy.
I’d say they’re fuzzy, but still present. There are definitely SOME pieces that look like they could belong to a different gear type. And it wouldn’t be the end of the world if they removed all the restrictions, but the argument that “there’s no distinction between gear types so we should remove the restrictions” is dumb.
If you want to argue that gear types should be removed despite the distinction, I disagree, but that’s a matter of opinion. However the statement that the gear types are indistinguishable in their current form is blatantly inaccurate.
One thing that’s a big deal for a lot of people is the removal of Holiday restrictions on most armors - especially the nonsensical ones.
Why is wearing red sunglasses okay year round but bronze ones limited to the Anniversary holiday?
Why are Flower Crowns limited to Lunar New Year, despite being an iconic feature of springtime in general?
The list goes on, but the Holiday restrictions need to be loosened considerably.
The red sunglasses aren’t transmogable at all presently. But I agree that both should be made regular mogs.
That’s an understatement. The examples are so many it’s almost ridiculous how this is still an issue.
I wouldn’t say there are no distinction between the armor types, but I sure as hell think they aren’t enough to justify the current restrictions in the transmog system.
We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this point, but it still sounds like the community is in agreement over the majority of the mog changes.
I’m not so sure about that. Last I checked, they haven’t done any kind of poll on the subject.
You seem to like the restrictions, and that’s fine. Many others doesn’t, and that’s also fine. My only gripe though, is that most people who are in favor of the restrictions are players who doesn’t even care for transmogging at all.
Of course, I’m not implying that’s your case.
Quick Edit: BTW, if I didn’t know better, I could easily mistake your outfit for cloth.
What I meant was that other than the removal of gear type, I haven’t seen much disagreement about the mog changes. People seem to agree about stuff like 1h/2h standardization and mogging legendary weapons. At least in this thread.
Actually haha I can’t mog these ones either. I don’t have my real helm on! Sad times. I wish I could not these over my real helm.
Remove the cost.
There are a few sets that are very clearly robes. Firelands tier set for one. And that has multiple colors too. the BC dungeon set is T2 recolored also. Dont act like its some magical new thing.
Cost removal or reduction would be amazing honestly. I hate having to decide whether a new look is worth 500+ gold. Especially when it used to cost closer to 100.
Well.
I wish I could say I am surprised by this, but in a game with numerous goggles and other head pieces…this is where Blizzard draws the line.
To draw emphasis to the absurdity of the Holiday gear…
THIS is fine.
THIS crosses the line.
Free the holiday transmog!
FREE THE HOLIDAY TRANSMOG!
You can, without any kind of holiday going on, already dress in just livid purple pants and pink pauldrons, with a fish in one hand and a bouquet in the other and a hat that looks like some kind of weird bird head.
But no, having glasses that sparkle year round, that’s an immersion-destroying gamebreaker.
There are cosmetic armor pieces already that look like plate, and there are cosmetic pieces that look like cloth. You can put a cloth user in full plate gear using the garrison stormwind armor, and you can use the gilnean darkmoon dress mog on a plate user.
If someone wants to look like they’re wearing a different armor type they already can. Removing the restrictions just allows people to make more creative outfits.
Has anyone mentioned an option to hide one shoulder or one glove yet? Because that would be really cool.
They’re letting us do it soon! It’s been confirmed all but pants.
Oh, I actually knew about that but I meant only one shoulder or one glove. Like the guy in scarlet monastery.
Oh oops! I feel silly now. Good idea though!
