To add the the discussion, it doesn’t seem to make sense to allow future Non-Evoker Dracthyr to choose to permanently be in visage form in combat, but exclude Evokers from that same luxury. Our transmog is a significant part of our game experience, and it’s unfortunate that as Evokers we are forced to use our dragon form in combat because it’s part of our enforced fantasy. Other classes are allowed glyphs to not be an owlbear, and other class fantasy aspects they don’t like.
It’s already possible to stay in visage form in combat, albeit it in another race by using the Gleeful Glamours from TWW Enchanting. These allow you to have your own transmog on a playable race model even while in combat, including using your breath attack (which is honestly gold to see while this is on, try it) The major problem is that even at rank 3, these last 1 hour and have a 2 hour cool down.
I personally prefer the look of my Visage form Dracthyr, with the humanoid appearance and slight dragon features. It’s silly that I can have my transmog in combat ONLY if I use a consumable to become a different race visually. The tech to allow permanent Visage form outside of Soar clearly exists. Please Blizz, do not limit it do Non-Evoker Dracthyr leaving us to use these workarounds.
i ask a simple question, and instead of answering, you:
are snide
miss the question
put words in my mouth
i suppose that’s its own answer to the question. thank you for making it slightly more annoying to add you to my ignored list, that seems very on-brand for you.
transmog is the majority of this game nowadays since gear is reset every couple of months. I dont mind it on my feral because i am a 4 legged cat\bear and armor just wouldnt even make sense on a transform like that.
But as a humanoid caster that should be able to have armor its just silly or at least let us glyph visage form in combat.
A lot of Evokers are really weird to me. Players say they’d like certain options, and so many Evoker players get mad at those options even being suggested.
Like some people want armor tmog on their Evoker / new classes coming to Dracthyr. We can hide gear - your Evoker won’t have to wear armor if you think it’s ugly / don’t want to, so why do you care? Same with people that want Evoker to be playable in Visage form. You can still play in dragon form 24/7, so why do you care?
I’ve seriously never seen a group of players so fussed over having more customization options.
There’s a very big difference between being opposed to more armor and tmog options that benefit everyone and wanting evokers to have perma visage.
Permanent visage (in many players opinions) takes away the visual class differentiation that is pretty critical to mmos.
It’s weird that you don’t find it both ironic and hypocritical to tell people which opinions are valid and which aren’t.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Just like everyone is entitled to disagree with opinions on a forum dedicated to discussing said opinions.
Disagreeing with someone is okay; there’s so many sensitive people in here that just want an echo chamber and can’t deal with people not parroting what they’ve complained about.
Stop trying to dictate who is allowed to have an opinion.
I’m not saying they’re not entitled to their opinion, I just don’t get why they’re against more visual choice for players. I genuinely don’t understand why Player A would care that Player B gets to have their character look the way they want. I’m not saying they’re not allowed to feel that way, but it’s odd to me to care so much.
Visual differentiation is pretty nebulous anymore. A ret paladin, a frost dk, and an arms warrior could all look the exact same per transmog and weapon type and I’d only be able to tell what I’m looking at if I checked my tooltip or checked their buffs / resource bar. I don’t get why that’s an issue though either.
It’s basically like religion, some people want to impose their views onto other’s lives. You’re absolutely right, person A shouldn’t care what person B does. They should provide customization and person A can choose not to use it and go about their life the way they want. Right now, person A is trying to prevent person B from trying to enjoy the game their way without a good reason. As you mentioned, class differentiation is not a real thing anymore with mogs.
We aren’t trying to ruin anything for anyone else, but as with all fantasy media a paladin cannot start using necromantic abilities because they think it “looks better” that changes the whole class and lore at that point. Lore exists regardless of your opinion on it, lore says you can’t use dragon magic not in dragon form. So at this point either find a class you can like the look of, use the numerous amount of toys to change your appearance, use the new “glamour’s”, or just deal with it. Those are the options laid out by blizzard regardless of your opinion on it.
All the “person A” wants is for the lore of the game to be respected the best we can, Yes we acknowledge that retcons happen. Retcons happen bc unfortunately blizzard cannot predict the future 20+ years in advance and sometimes has to fix things to make the current story work.
If anything you are trying to ruin it for the current evoker players as dracthyr is the default form.
prepare for a siege of ‘actually the villain is you’ posts with flimsy justifications. count the number of dumb lore appeals. it’s a good drinking game.
“Only my way of playing dracthyr should be allowed!”
At the end of the day, you can still be the evoker you want, but you’re actively not wanting others to play the game they want, which has no impact on how YOU still play. You’re just gate keeping using some weak lore defense in arguably the most frankesteined game in the history of game franchises.
