Farming old dungeons for good ol’ transmogs gonna be a pain in the rear whenever cataclysm arrives

These mechanics really shouldn’t apply if you’re in the instance alone. Blizzard cba to fix anything though.
You should be able to kill things faster than that timer though…
I really dislike the anti-boost mechanics. It seems to be a solution that affects the average player in a more negative way than it solves any problems in the game.
I still regularly farm old content, I have not once run into the stun mechanic or had any issues come up besides the teleporting when things cant hit me or I cant hit them.
Personally, I think they should just tweak how xp and gold is rewarded in dungeons. There’s no point to stop people from mass pulling in dungeons.
Just make it if someone is solo that he gets 1/5 of the gold/mob drops and xp and make boss drops worth less gold.
Why further punish people for playing how they would like to within the rules of the game? Who would benefit from your suggestion?
DUDE! SHUT UP! They might hear (read) you. And then they’ll make mobs have a “Mob Mentality” debuff that stacks and scales their HP and Damage to insane levels if you pull to many at once.
Hands down, the “solution” the devs came up with just how bad they are.
Simple solution would have been to limit the instance to once per 23hr period if the player would have ‘grey mobs’ in said dungeon/raid.
…there. Nothing else needed. Solves the problem of boosting AND solves the problem of botting and farming for coin in dungeons/raids.
The real solution is to hire some freaking GMs. But Bobby needs a yacht, and the board wants silk safety nets to catch them as they land with their golden parachutes.
You can play the same, but incentivizing some gameplay over others is relevant when making a game. If tanks for example can solo dungeons why would they join a group?
That’s my whole point, just change the incentives but keep the gameplay the same.
lol that sounds a bit odd. Make people want to get other people for content they can one shot otherwise be punished. And people have a hard enough time finding groups as it is.
This isn’t like other MMO’s where you can sync old content to do something like Scarlet Monastery at its intended level when you are 80. People are not going to want to group just to one shot and compete for low level items.
You aren’t punished, old content should just not be as relevant for a level 80 in term of rewards. Moreover it only leads to more botting and botting in instances is way harder to detect for Blizzard as you can’t easily report them.
And that still doesn’t solve people having a hard time finding groups.
To a certain point, without RDF the concept is that there should be some struggle to find a group as you should find people to do dungeons with over time and do dungeons again with them. If we just want people to do more dungeons RDF is the solution.
Yes you are. I am speaking as someone who did a lot of xmog and mount hunting before classic came out. You don’t want other people in your group as if that lucky mount drops that you were hunting for months it sucks to have to see it go to someone else and then not see it drop again for another few months.
Forcing reduced drop rates like this will just make mount hunters and xmog hunters angry.
Reduced drops would be for mobs, boss drop would only be nerf by gold value.
Xmog doesn’t just drop off of bosses. I farmed a world set in cata that the best place was in SM. It was very, very painful. (I still remember doing laps in the Cathedral to get the pants to drop. It took me about 150 runs )
I don’t feel that’s a major problem. World drops of that type aren’t made to be farmed if you care about your time.
I mean I don’t need you to tell me what I do with my time. It was what I wanted when I was younger and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I just think entire playstyles shouldn’t be sacrificed because you are trying to get rid of people who are trying to abuse the game. (Which it wouldn’t even work. All they would have to do is get someone to afk at the entrance to overcome your new system. It is such an easy loophole.)
Tmog didnt exist till final patch of cata, we got void storage to start. As far as farming it goes nothing has changed really other than mass pulling the entire dungeon in one pull. You can chain pull groups of mobs and faceroll the dungeon and not trigger any booster debuffs so not sure why your crying about tmog farming being handicapped.
It started with boosting.
Now its just farming in general.
Then they kill quests.
Then they we can finally play the game now that there is no one left to play.
