I perfer for transmog more lower level gear, a lot of which is green. Don’t just follow someone’s list, find what you like
The scope of this wasn’t for solo’ing current content, it was for old content people like to farm.

I remember how irate I was when I figured out what SPens antiboosting does, as I was protadin soloing to level through TBC.
It shuts off ALL XP for your current run if you are in any pull for longer than 60 seconds.
Bear in mind, they HAVE said previously they do not care at all if you are strong enough to run off and solo group content, more power to you. Well, their anti-boosting was such a heavy handed slap in the face it affects the unintended audience.
Considering most people are past low level content anyway, it’s hardly relevant to keep it in besides maybe slowing down bot/farmer rebuilding. But realistically, it’s not going to see any changes because it is old content, and they don’t have time to make up for their poor approach there.
As always, classic is merely an experimental afterthought and we are the guinea pigs.

Whenever you make something harder to do, less people do it. It’s a simple rule that work. Moreover, parking character is not free and has a cost so there’s a big deterrent there. I’m not saying it has to scale perfectly with numbers of players but making it scale in a certain way would certainly work to a point. Moreover, they could easily force players to have to tag the mobs to increase xp/loot, easy.
Sorry if my scope is a bit bigger I think old content could use a lot of rework and some of them might affect more than one facet of the game. I think the worse thing about the anti-boost mechanic is that you actually can’t pull as much when leveling, for max level character I personally think that barely matter as you’re still deleting most stuff.
The only thing it did is instead of farming as prot paladin you’re encouraged to farm as ret paladin.

I mean, sticking scope of the thread for the sake of understanding. Randomly shifting the scope doesn’t help anyone understand or communicate.

I don’t disagree that this is a hinderance, I personally think the level cut off for EXP is way more of an issue and should be rethought.
I have better success with prot over ret for farming old content. I have never been hit with the stun feature and clear just as fast with less downtime. The passive damage prot has is pretty good compared to Ret for farming.

I think the way to fix this is to add scaling for old dungeons, if you want to play with people of lower levels you should be. But the best way to clear content shouldn’t be to pay for a boost.
It’s a bit faster for me as ret when it comes to pre-tbc content where they added mass pull protection. Ret also struggle a bit less for mana when it comes to do a bunch of smaller packs that you kill quick as prot require to proc sanctuary for mana regen a lot.
Yes this please. I don’t think Blizzard realizes the options this could open up for the health of the game over all. Numerous WoW contemporaries have this feature and it is well used and a much better way for max players to help their low level friends without boosting them wholesale.
What are you running into that is hindering you from the anti boosting changes? I regularly farm Strat (that mount WILL drop) as prot and have never encountered it personally. I do pull up to the scarlet quarter on living side and essentially pull most of the gauntlet up to Rivendare pretty easily without triggering the protections.
Not trying to sound condescending here but are you pulling smaller out of caution? One holy wrath in the middle of a group should kill them all pretty quickly. Mainly ask because I want to run into the protections just to see it in action.
I mostly did this early on, haven’t really went back to farming strat after naxx.

they shouldn’t release cataclysm. It already killed subscribers once.
There should be a Classic plus with quality of life built in. better spells, make all specs viable. Dont release cata. include transmog in classic plus.

Transmog was the one good thing added in cataclysm and maybe one of the best things ever added to the game

Oh damn I cannot wait for Cataclysm Classic that is when I started about mid way If i recall.And yeah Transmog runs will be awesome and a lot will be coveted.I remember @ the tail end of cataclysm on my Warrior (Still my main) Farming Molten Core and Blackwing Lair and having a blast dying to fall damage on ragnaros was a funny learning experience but got there in the end. I am just going to start the same path I did back then if Cata Classic is actually coming.I will 100% be doing Black Temple runs for Warglaives on reserve with the Bulwark etc.
