Why are we still unable to transfer to the unlocked servers? We can make new characters, but we aren’t able to move our characters to them? I’m curious to hear the reasoning at this point. We have faction changes but…
Because the servers are not unlocked, they’re only unlocked to character creation. Only one that’s recently been unlocked to transfers in Grob.
Why do people ask redundant questions as though a random person on the forums is going to magically know the answer?
To get attention by the devs
The main theory is they know less people will at this stage start at 1, no gold, on these servers.
you have the choice to begin anew. with ulduar in full swing as well as season 6 pvp. I don’t see even 10K+ players doing that however
its hey we did something for the players gestures. but it is an option nonetheless.
straight transfers they fear may flood the server. I don’t know how valid that is. whitemane didn’t blow up when it opened to transfers weeks back. I have horde there now and for west coast options it was worth it from OB.
I think your spot on. I believe that’s exactly why they kept servers locked. They fear opening the big servers like Benediction or Faerlina will just cause a mass influx of characters that there servers are incapable of handling. They have also gone on record saying they’re done with megaservers and don’t just wanna try to spread the population out by offering transfers off of them, but they wanna prevent megaservers from re-emerging. The amount of people that would go to Faeriline or Benediction if given the chance to would completely undo the progress made when they tried to dissolve megaservers several months ago. These servers are still locked because they’re simply still way too big.
But with the new (from two weeks ago) free transfers they are basicaly making more mega servers and killing off small ones so I doubt that that’s their goal still. And there are “mega servers” that are unlocked for transfer and smaller ones that are locked. It’s just very confusing and they are not saying anything anymore which is the most frustrating part.
They’re not creating more megaservers because they’ll stop the transfers before it gets to that point. Kinda like when they looked Sulfuras within a few days because it was starting to get too full. They’re watching the transfers and will lock servers before they reach a point of being too populated. They have no problem killing off small servers because when a server is too small to warrant keeping up, it’s sitting using resources for nothing. It makes the most sense to offer transfers off these realms so they can be shut down and the servers can be consolidated like we seen happen in Classic, which is likely what their game plan is.
They want you to make new characters and boost them.
They messed up though and forgot that people who are faction changing will want to transfer. Now they are pointing fingers…
I am guessing transfer restrictions will be updated soon.
Doubt that’s the goal because most people who were gonna pay to boost a character would have likely within the first 5 months.
Why would you want to faction change and transfer? Only reason to faction change is if you’re planning on moving to a new server where the opposite faction is the majority. At that point, you could just as easily go to a server where your own faction is the majority.
Secondly, if you’re faction changing it’s likely because you’re on a server where you’re not the majority, but after faction changing, you would be apart of the winning faction.
it jsut be nice if they said so.
Of late they short fuse everything. it let die hards know its time to go make some level 1’s to at least look at potential new homes.
I am partial to staging level 1’s to see the chat/ah before moves anyway.
5 months eh. Very specific. I bet you work for a company that cleans blizzard’s rugs and secretly feeds us information.
I am onto you.
Yes, 5 months since Wrath launched, which was when everyone was given a new boost to use that was separate from their 1 time boost they used in TBC. That’s why I was so specific, you spoon.
I think you can see blizzard’s white boards.
Anyways… they want people to buy boosts.
But they also were hoping for a major influx of cash from xfers which isn’t happening. Now, they assume that if they open transfers people will open their wallets.
People can’t buy another boost if they already used their boost, you absolute spoon.
That’s the point. Which, in 5 months of Wrath, 4 of which was spent slogging through phase 1, many people already used their 1 time boost.
Now I know you’re trolling. If they were just looking for the cash, why wouldn’t they let people transfer an play wherever they want? Why wouldn’t they give us faction change without a CD? Why wouldn’t they ban bots? Servers have been dying down and dying off for months now, they’ve had plenty of time to open transfers to desired realms and they still haven’t. So if they haven’t yet, why not?
Just admit that you work for a third party company that comes in and cleans Blizzard’s rugs.
We know that you have that inside information. It’s ok though. We won’t tell.
Just gimme an actual well thought out and relevant response, please. I have provided a counter to every single one of your points. Now it’s your turn.
I did. But you clean Blizzard’s rugs and can see their white boards. You obviously saw information about transfers and are holding it back.
Why the secrecy
Edit: and why did you delete all of that lovely work you did. I liked your post when it was longer.
Got to get to work. Got some rugs to pick up.
You didn’t actually.
Answer the question.
I already answered the OP.
Now you need to answer me. Why the secrecy?
