Transferring Character to a new account

Ok, I hope I can ask the question right:

I have a character that I leveled through Threads of Fate that I want to transfer to an ALL NEW account (new email address) - So I can dual box them with alt tab. Yes i know about wow2. That isnt what I want.

So if this toon leveled through Threads of fate and I transfer him to an all new fresh account, and I buy a new 50 boost, will that new toon have the threads of fate option or will I need to do the story line again?

In order to have access to the Threads of Fate a character on the Battle.net account needs to have completed specific achievements associated with the Story Campaign, as well as completing Chapter 1 of your selected Covenant’s campaign.

Most account wide achievements are bound to the Battle.net account, so I’m not sure if that status would be available on a new Battle.net account and you may need to complete those steps before the Threads of Fate option would be available.

Edit: Confirmed, the Threads of Fate unlock will remain behind with the source account.

Also keep in mind that all account bound items will remain with the source account, Mounts, Toys, Pets, Appearances, Heirlooms, etc…

Oh wow… All the mounts it earned doesn’t go? What a bummer. Might need to rethink this … thank you for posting that.

If you do it as a wow2 that is still all account level as it is the bnet account. So you would have access to all that stuff still.

Just for some food for thought.

I should also mention when transferring a character the character is technically “deleted” and “recreated” on the new realm and/or account. When a character is delete that is level 30+, that character’s name is placed on a reserved list. The name is then only accessible by the source Battle.net account until a 30 day cooldown has expired.

This means that if you transfer the character to a new Battle.net account but remain on the same realm you will likely need to select a new name for your character.

If you are intending to play both characters at the same time, as long as they are on different WoW license, but the same Battle.net account, they may be logged in at the same time. Only one will be able to be logged into the Battle.net account at one time, but that should only impact communication through Battle.net itself (i.e. RealID/BattleTag friends).
