I had an 85 alliance char on skyfury which needed a new home. I had a couple choices… benediction and faerlina.
My horde character was already on faerlina so I decided to transfer him there.
When I arrived in stormwind it was a total ghost town, similar to skyfury. At that point I remembered cata servers are completely lopsided with 99% of the population being alliance or horde. I chose wrong. Now I’m stuck on a dead faction and if I want to get him to benediction I have to pay.
Blizzard… what the hell, combine the servers already

Bruh… it sucks that you made a choice you don’t like. But people choose to play on Faerlina Alliance. Merging them wouldn’t make the game better for any of us who do.
There is a pretty great, small-server community feel to Faerlina Alliance, people work together. There are raids, there is abundant WPVP, and it’s a pretty amazing place to play (possibly the best possible experience in Classic progression, though that’s subjective).
Maybe have a look around, and see if you like it, but if not, there’s no time like the present to reroll. Benediction is a great server for finding people to do Arenas with (probably the best in Cata), though the season is now over.

I mean…
Come on LOL…
really blaming blizzard for this?
OP couldnt take literally 35 seconds to time to think about their decision… do a SINGLE bit of research.
Nothing but blame blame blame blame blame…
Wild how ppls brains work man.

On one hand, Blizzard should’ve never allowed PvP servers to become monofaction parking lots. On the other, you’re clearly not a new player - so assuming this is true, it’s entirely your own fault.

I knew it. But for some reason when I saw the 3 realm options for free transfers I had a brief moment of “oh my other characters are on this one” button click.
Faction balance wasn’t on my mind. Where my characters were already located were
Or like, actually check out the community…

Is the server pop listed on the transfer selection page? If a user has to do external research in the transfer process to determine this, the transfer process needs improvement.

In fairness it’s been like this since at least 2010. A server population is marked ‘high’ only based on characters, not even active ones.

They have never, EVER, in the history of WoW put population balance or population figures in game.
You have always, since 2005 needed to do your own research when it comes to xfers.
This is not new.

If you do decide to retransfer than benediction is popping alliance side. (I know that is little consolation at this point.)
Benediction does have the same issue as faerlina though but in the opposite direction. Huge alliance pop but practically no horde.
This is what happens when you don’t do your research beforehand.

I still get ganked by max level ally on Faerlina on my alts while leveling.
There must be 10 of them.
it has been told over and over what the population in here was like lol your fault for not looking it up even in ironforge site

omg imagine going to faerlina alliance and blaming blizzard
You’re mad at Blizz because you chose wrong?
OP is from SoD, they know how to look at ironforge.pro since they like to compare their numbers to the other versions of WoW.
This is just another reason that blizzard needs to consolidate all the servers
I disagree. Plenty of people made ally on bene or horde on faerlina because thats where the ppl are … not necessarily for PvP.
If they want to consolidate the servers fine… but they better off free xfers off to PvE servers if thats the case.
Im 100% leaving Faerlina if they do that. I dont want to sit in Panda land getting ganked by alliance 24/7. nothing about that is fun
The pvp is already bad enough on Faerlina at 99/1%, alliance are everywhere camping everything imaginable… and they are at 1%.
Cant imagine how bad itll be if it goes to 50%

Yeah Ally on Faerlina are the worst.
It’s just max levels ganking people who are leveling.
I can’t imagine being one of the 20 ally on a server and just ganking people all day.
What a boring way to spend your free time.
