Hello, i am curious why i am unable to transfer to locked servers when i have characters already made there. I can only log into one character at a time so it shouldnt impact queue times. My guild transferred there and i was away at the time and when i got home the server was locked. Please help!
we got to wait until they release the super duper mega transfers that bypass locked servers for $50
Id be sweet if @blizzardcs was actually reachable. Its a nightmare trying to talk to a support person
It’s to prevent exactly what you are trying to do…
Tons of people have level 1s on all servers just for name reservation or whatever.
Or they haven’t played on the server in years.
Just because you have a character there doesn’t make you an established player on the server… it’s not like you are taking your own spot.
You would be a new player to the server, making the queue worse.
It’s locked bud. Sorry to say.
What about people that wanna play with their friends, like me? I can’t play with my friends because my chars are stuck on a different server.
I thought Blizzard wanted players to socialize?
Mine arent level 1s they are played characters but i cant transfer my main there? Makes no sense.
I mean, are they supposed to human review this stuff case by case?
Queues are a major issue… there is absolutely no space for people.
Like it stinks I get it… but eventually they will be lifted and yall can play together. For now, no.
If you arent an active player on that server say in the last month… and wanting to xfer there… you are essentially a new player trying to join an already bad situation.
So the people who fade out are higher priority? Your logic is skewed and yeah i mean having customer support that is reachable is something a business who cares about their player base should have. Im not just a player, i’m a consumer. This is a community based MMO to not be able to play with my community is a bigger problem than a queue time and i dont mean mine alone i mean the thousands of people who are having a diffuclt time doing the same. Im leveling a character on this server until its reaolved so ill be taking that login spot either way.
The solution is quite simple: allow transfers for those with at least one max level character on the realm. I’ve been wanting to xfer my Classic main over to my TBC server since the announcement of faction change, but alas server is locked despite no queues. Adding one additional 70 to my server where I have all my characters (8 level 70’s) does not impact queues since they don’t exist or population since it’s still just me on my same account.
But i have been active in the last month.
big true <3
This is the first time they’ve ever locked servers/faction locked (which is great), so I am guessing the coding is not perfect.
There is no reason someone shouldn’t be able to transfer/create if they already have characters existing on said locked server.
What if everyone had one toon on every server? Would there be a level requirement?
Either way why can’t people just wait in a queue if they want to play on that server? If the availability to transfer off for no queue is there, some might find it beneficial to wait on a queue to play on a particular server.
Blizzard wants to do away with mega servers. They have said that being light-handed is just not working (which is true, server issues has been at the forefront of player concerns for years). So they switched to being much more heavy-handed. You can look at the thread in the WoW Community Council section where they explain their reasoning and what they are doing. But if a server gets locked, don’t expect it to open for potentially many months. Blizzard is done with the mega server mentality that the players have gravitated too.
unlock the servers this idea is a failure. my character has basically been kidnapped to sulfurus and im unable to get it onto bene
They aren’t going to do that.
You’ve clearly missed the last 2-3 weeks on the forums.
Oh I’m sure people are going to do that now.
It would probably be a their side observation thing. If they see a bunch of level 1s with no activity, they would probably code in a level requirement.
Alot of people have level 1s on all the big servers
I didnt even play TBC much and I have level 1s on bene, grob, level 70 on pagle, a few various levels from 1-65 on other servers.
And my toons on skyfury which is where I will be playing wrath, but I setup all these level 1s to check out the world chat, the group finders see how many groups are going etc
Before making a call on where to play for wrath
