My daughter has been playing on her dad’s account. Dad has not played since Pandaria so he has let her make a character and use his account.
Daughter just turned 14. Dad is thinking about coming back to WoW. They will not want to share an account anymore, but instead play side by side.
Dad has 2 WoW accounts under one single Blizzard account.
All important characters are on the same WoW account.
Idea is that my daughter will get her character transferred to dad’s second WoW account and the second WoW account subsequently gets split into a brand new Blizzard account, so she has her own login, password and subscription and they can play side by side
Is this possible? She was only like 8 years old when she started playing and it was after her dad quit WoW so her not having her own account right of the bat was logical decision… we did not know if she can even stick to the game. I read in User Agreement that we are allowed to share an account with one minor child.
If necessary dad is willing to make a second Blizzard account under his name to transfer her character to if she is not allowed to transfer it to account under her own name.
Open a ticket and talk to billing but any mounts and herilooms will stay with dads account if she has to create a new account and once she turn 18 she will need a new account as accounts cant be shared or gifted once she turns 18.
You have them down perfectly. Move the character to the license the child will get. I would make the second account in the name of the parent, set up parental controls, then have Blizz move the license over.
She won’t get any mounts/pets/achivements etc that are on dad’s account, but she WILL get to keep those on the new account.
When she turns 18 the name on the Bnet can be changed (first name can be changed by her - last name takes Support help and legal documents).
Thank you. Which is fine. She does not care. She is actually very disappointed with how easy it is to gain levels and mounts now. She likes to “work” for her achievements. (This is Sheeps, I have just changed my character to post from)
Interesting. I know that some mounts do - like character specific mounts (Warlock/Pally class mounts, PVP earned mounts). But as a general rule, expect to leave most behind.
