Unless they’ve changed something from how tokens, weeklies, and rares worked on the PTR, it’ll take a week at most if you’re actually trying. Or 2 weeks if “you’re just playing the game.” I’m sure some players will have it within 1-3 days.
100% false
You could “catchup” your renown in Shadowlands (…as in literally going from 1 to max) just casually spamming “repeatable” content such as Heroic dungeons or low M+, over a weekend, no big deal really
They even rolled out “boost renown to 40” BOA tokens you could mail to your alts, making the catchup that much faster
On the other hand… for a totally new/returning player with literally 0 renowns in Dragonflight, that person is looking at a few months of grinding boring content - and not even to get “maxed out” renown
With no similarly “spammable” sources of reputation/renown comparable to Shadowlands, the DF renown grind is hard-limited by weekly quests, finite WQs, and finite/one-time storyline campaigns as the only sources of reputation. Once you do the weekly, all the WQs on the map, all the world events/incursions, etc there is literally no more sources of reputation points until the next reset… it’s slow slow slow
Each renown in DF is a rather grindy 2500 reputation points with it’s respective faction, compared to Shadowlands much more simple/straightforward “complete 1 quest and get +1 renown” or “do X activity and get +1 renown”
Casually maxing out your renown “over a weekend” in Shadowlands versus “grinding rep for months” in Dragonflight?? It’s like, the two are not even a CLOSE comparison - Shadowlands was the much more catchup-friendly renown system of the two hands down
Oh well, not going to happen
Don’t give blizzard ideas.
11.0…
Renown to not walk at RP walk pace
Food/water is only 50% of the benefit…till renown fixed.
I still say want people in your content, make your content worth running.
Fired up eve of late. for the expac in 2 weeks I need to fix my pirate standings since I have been shooting a faction called angel cartel for years. Soon, I get to and wnat to fly for them
So now I suffer for 100’s of angels extravanganza’s run over 14 years.
Why do I suffer? the content is looking pretty interesting when it comes in 2 weeks. And it once I fix this crap I should be getting paid really well off faction vendor sales I flip.
Noting all of this…is optional. those not doing this ever…never have to take one step into the curse region of space.
I may never snack again… so hungry…
I get that way when I look up dutch oven recipes at work. 3 recipes in and…damn I am hungry. with lunch hours away lol.
Uuuh! Blizz asks a lot for something so small, I barely reach the maximum level with the factions and it asks me to make Zaralek Cavern that no one wants to make; And how am I going to complete the tremendous list they ask for to be able to fly on Dragon Island?
I need to record this to repost to people who claim how easy and quick it is to get Renown in Dragonflight…
PS: Finally got to Loam Niffen R15 just now. Leaves Cavern, possibly for the last time.
As I said, it was much faster by the end of SL after the adjustments. You must have missed that part. With DF, we were and still are able to make significant progress at a reasonable pace from the get-go. Is it “end of SL” fast? Of course not. But it’s reasonable. Far more reasonable than it was at the beginning and most of SL.
This is how I felt about Legion pathfinder back in the day and it led to me not engaging with the new content until after flight was released. I allowed myself to get sidetracked with other content while working on Legion pathfinder - never again. I’ve held off on purchasing xpacs for multiple patches, gritted my teeth while focusing exclusively on pathfinder requirements, then finally after that was all done I started to enjoy the game again. Some content is forever ruined for me after being forced to do it in a specific way that I didn’t enjoy before being able to fly. That’s especially true when it comes to grinding reputations. I hate rep grinding now; I used to enjoy it prior to WoD. I suppose I’ll have to start grinding DF content on my evoker in the near future (since that’s the toon with the most progress towards pathfinder).
All the lies that BlizZard has said that they wanted players to experience the content on the ground has seen the light.
Players have been zipping around with DR day one of this expansion. Collectively punishing players that would prefer to use TBC flying is petty at this point.
I feel sorry for the ppl who have
problems flying with the dragon
great going blizz
It isn’t so simple which is why the returning players will have it the worst.
Yikes, have you not read any of the comments about the accessibility issues with Dragonriding? I do not have a physical disability myself per se, but I do wind up with motion sickness if I’m not careful with how fast and frequently I use a dragonriding mount – a problem I wouldn’t have to deal with were regular player flight was available.
Why the heck should people with health problems have to do a pretty involved checklist, when dragonriding was easily and immediately available? That logic is bizarre even by Blizzard standards.
Its amazing how this thread reach 350+ replies without any response…Blizzard always have the opportunity to address this issue fast but they prefer to remain silent and move to the next thing, maybe players will forget with another issue or Blizzcon announcements.
Blizzard and its devs are extremely stubborn. It’s a huge surprise when they change course on anything. But they’ve been listening a little more this expansion, so the dream’s not dead yet.
They will.
This happens everytime in every expansion since WoD.
The main Dev’s that your trying to reach at Blizzard have more than likely already gone home for the night. So your chances of them even reading any of the responses for over 2 hours now are very slim to none.
Hahaha CM post this 4 hours ago and then left the building…
Tomorrow, “This is fine ”…
I sense a megathread brewing in here, just give it a day or two for more folks to catch wind of it
