While there may or may not be ones that cannot skip months. There is definitely some that require it being done multiple months. Warden armor (listed under character achievements as “trading post enthusiast”) for example requires 12 completions.

You can’t actually.
That’s 1 thing you can do to reach 1k. If you reach 1k by other means, 25 raid bosses doesn’t grant anything extra.
Just play normally, and you’ll reach 1k in 27 days unless your playtime is AFK in Valdrakken.
You can skip months and get the warden armor.
None require consecutive months.

Now the unhappiness wizards of the GD forum bring you:
Blizzard: “Hey here is a thing, with rotating free stuff you can get every month. All you have to do to buy it is play the game and do things in it, and have an active sub.”
GD Forum Troll: “This is horrible and not good enough.”
This is literally the First month of it. And they added bandolier cloak mogs. They added a high resolution unique 1h mace flail mog. A store mount that currently was only available on the store. A pet. All easily attainable. Just for doing normal gameplay things in all forms of content.
You sir or mam, are absurd and ridiculous.

Before we got nothing for doing what we were already doing, at least now we get something for doing it. Thats not Semantics, thats just content.

I wish there were more colors available for the transmogs in there, as bright pink isn’t really my thing.
I was also kinda bummed out that the pirate set didn’t include an eyepatch cosmetic. Still no way to get an eyepatch on a plate character, makes me sad.
Rogues aren’t the only ones who can lose eyes you know!
Cloaks aren’t content.
Content is quests, instances, events.
You’re doing the same content you were before.
You’re getting more rewards from it.
Rewards =/= content.

Well i like it. I did my 15 pet battles last night and I’m finishing my raid bosses up today it was fun running Nax again, and remembering the fun i had during Wrarh.
I’ve even thought about running bgs something i haven’t done in years to get honor.
Some of the items in there are really cool and i like them.
It’s a good thing this is optional and you don’t have to participate, but it’s given me something to do besides just world quests and I’m having fun doing it.
No, rewards that are items we never were able to obtain is content, weather you like it or not, a reward is content. Just because you dont like the reward does not make it not content.
Im not a fan of pet battles because all it gives me is pets which i dont care about, that does not make it not content.
Again im not sure why you are upset here, blizzard is giving us rewards for doing things we already do, and possibly pushing us to do things we normally would not do in order to get them.
The other option here would have been, “Here is your tuning patch bro enjoy nothing else.” We are actually getting something which is rare for a .0.5 patch so i dont get why you are upset here.
Do you want more WoD style “major content” like twitter integration and a bird that sits on your head?

What you do to obtain the cloak is content.
That content isn’t new, it’s literally all the same content you did already.

Then downtime is also content then. I mean you still have the forums and opinions.
We did level our guild back in the day. Those perks were awesome. I haven’t been in a guid on years

Your “more important things” will grant you progress towards trading post passively and before you know it, you’ll have a new mount and 2k tender.
Not going to say no one wanted that, but that is what arena’s were for…
What people have wanted for years and years ended up being in WoD as the most underwhelming feature ever added since the selfiecam.
I’m pretty happy with my purple Edict of Argus staff and baby ogre pet.
