Yall are really something else: It was valentines, then spring and summer, of course the themes would be very tied to that. Heres a link to the next few trading post themes and LITERALLY summer and dark depths is up next few months with old god and shadow stuff, then some competition stuff and some good old fashioned faction items.
Not every trading post will be a theme you enjoy. Thats GOOD, so you can save your tender for the months where the theme really hits for you.

they put the stuff worth being monthly rewards and make them priced for tender instead
They are designing what they as players of World of Warcraft feel they would be excited about seeing in the Trading Post.
The problem is the culture there is completely disconnected from the player base.
They do not appear to be even trying to make a product for their existing consumers, but rather they appear convinced that they can CHANGE the consumer or get new ones.
The Warchief gets it, you can tell, but he has to play the game. He’s outnumbered.
OR they have the data to back up that a decent amount people enjoyed bright and summery things and wanted a few more so they added some in since the theme timing works out. Theyre STILL doing the usual. Everyone is getting up in arms about literally nothing.
I like the flower stuff but they do need to change the theme now. We’ve been getting a LOT of flower stuff lately.
Its literally roadmapped already.
February: Valentine’s Day. Hearts, pink, Love is in the Air.
April: Traditional Spring / Easter outfits. Bunnies.
May: “April Showers Bring May Flowers.”
Makes perfect sense imho.

They do the pets, back/wrist mogs and whatnot because most classes can use them. Allowing all to get a free item they can use on most of their characters. And they put the more locked classe stuff behind the paywall. It makes sense (as much as Id love more free mounts)
It is obvious what the game is about and what people actually like is in plain sight.
That data exists like there is data players wanted an expansion about family and friendship in an IP called Warcraft.
World of Gardencraft? I don’t know. 
Didnt even need to point that out, of course its your right. And its my right to say youre being a grown child about it. Save your tender and your time, grumble away or whatever and get ready for a month you care about. Or go suggest some fun ideas YOU enjoy and make a change.
Im not a big fan of the flowery stuff either. Im just a tenders hoarder at this point
I’m of the mind that People wanted a change of pace from how Dour the last two expansions were, to say nothing of how having an expansion about rebirth makes a ton of sense given how much has changed and needed to change from a writing standpoint to ensure that this game is around for athird decade.
Because FIGHTING and war happens for a variety of reasons, often to defend connections/cultures/love etc in addition to oppression and all that. Theyre doing a decent job of giving people a variety of themes to pick from but everyone is getting weirdly stuck on some fairy wings in a game where a cow can wield a fish, riding a chicken…
You do know that players have been asking for these things for years. They are giving what players want. All players don’t want the same thing, just because these things are not for you does not mean they are not for others.
And I don’t even like all of the flower themed things but they are not for me to like.
Yeah I’m gonna have to agree here.
Sure flowers, rainbows and butterflys are fine for a bit but like everything in life it gets old.
