So my friend and I are on different ROLEPLAY servers. If we group together and lets say a BP drops for me but I want to give to him, can I? Like what are the rules for passing items that drop in a group that you are both in?
You can only do that if the realms are connected realms. Otherwise it only works with blue and purple drops from dungeons/raids/world bosses.
Woah, wait. What are connected realms? Like what realms are connected to what realms? and if they arent “connected” we can still trade items that drop in say a heroic dungeon run as long as they are blue or purple?

Connected Realms are a set of two or more realms that have been permanently and seamlessly “linked.” When you play on a Connected Realm:
- The Auction House is shared between your realm and the realms connected to it
- You can join a guild created on the realm connected to yours
- You can trade and exchange mail with players on the realm connected to yours
- You can party for Mythic dungeons and Mythic raids with players on the realm connected to yours

Connected realms are ones that act like a single realm. I’m on Bloodhoof and Duskwood is connected. That means I can trade with players on Duskwood the same as if they were on Bloodhoof. It also means players from connected realms can be in the same guild. Connected realms share an AH.
As long as you both were on the same loot table.

What is same loot table? Not sure what that means.
Let me just keep it simple: So if we are not on a “connected realm” and we group together to run let’s say King Rest Heroic. Can I give him any blue and purple item that drops that I don’t want?
Yes, providing you didn’t get the loot via a bonus loot roll.
If the loot is technically an upgrade for you, I don’t think you can trade it either.

If you are killing the same boss in the same dungeon in the same group. So if you group together and join a random dungeon and both hit the boss, the loot could be tradeable.
The only time I’ve seen it not be tradeable is if the item that dropped is an upgrade for one of the specs of that player. Because it’s an upgrade, even if they don’t want it, it can’t be traded.
