Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur $90.00 Ripoff!

OPTIONAL stuff in the shop. This isnt stuff you HAVE to buy ANY of it :man_facepalming:

None of what you are saying matters are makes any sense. Its Optional! You do NOT have to get it  If you HAD to get it what you are saying would hold water. But it just doesnt

I posted that because the OP thinks that WoW is becoming a gacha game because of one of like twenty mounts you can buy in the cash shop. I wasn’t talking to you. You should have looked at who I was talking to instead of embarassing yourself.

I’m not embarrassing myself. Just answer the freaking question! What the heck is a gatcha, or is it you don’t know?

You offered a subjective opinion.

Indeed, as mentioned above. And you assume I have a credit card. I won’t go into detail about my personal situation because its personal but yes, to each their own.

What has inflation got to do with my point? I said “this sort of thing”, not “this sort of price”. I was speaking of the situation, not the money.

Thanks for the update. It’s not that serious - to you. Again, subjective. I’ve been playing WoW - and paying Blizzard to do so - for 15 years. I have my own views on what is or is not serious.

Would it? Microsoft purchased Bathesda, who have ESO. ESO was originally a full sub game but then it went to ftp with a sub option, and created a large and often pricey store. You still pay for new expansions in ESO, and they are very clever at pushing players towards a sub by offering them QoL stuff you can’t get on the ftp. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Blizzard did something similar one day. But sure, that’s just my opinion.

Hmmmm no, it really doesn’t prove that at all.

God some of you are insufferable. Surrounded by babies on these forums for real.

I just want to use the chest that’s on the back as a bank …but hey beggers can’t be choosers…I’m just happy that I finally have an ah mount that’s better than the OG

Loot boxes were banned awhile back.

You started off by being completely dishonest.
How are you trying to twist that around lol.

Then why are you explaining how things are expensive and what’s expensive to you?

I don’t care.

“Ever in-increasing amount of things we are being asked to pay for” - inflation. Feels pretty self explanitory.

It sounds like you need to touch some grass if you are getting this upset over a game.
I have 15 years invested as well. 20k+ hours minimum. Account capped 100’s of times over. Many irl friends made in this game over 15 years.
But at the end of the day… it’s a game. And these things are completely optional. So subjective or not, it’s not that serious.

ESO was a flop in comparison to the successfulness of WoW. They aren’t even comparable.
And ESO is also really annoying to play without a sub. I used to play it with and without a sub.

Clearly you’ve never played a gatcha game on PC if you think WoW is anything like that.

Also, this is a nothing burger. Players spent hundreds of dollars buying WoW tokens to get the gold for the Caravan Brutosaur. Now would I do that? No. Would I spend $90 on a mount for this game? Also no.

But it’s frankly none of my business what other people spend their money on. Nor is it yours.

This same mindset is exactly how microtransactions have gotten so bad. People said the same s*** about horse armor in skyrim, and now look at where we are.

I know someone that spent around a grand for tokens to get it in bfa. This is nothing.

The word has lost any meaning due being used for literally any outside game purchase. I’ve seen it used for people who only bought a 10 dollar pet.

That is their problem not blizzards now …its called lack of self control …there are posters here stating they spent $800 for the BfA Long boi…do I believe them…maybe but not fully…

bought one for me and a few for some friends , its the best thing ever it feels soo good im happy why dont you clap along peasant ?

If you bought tokens and had next to nothing to start with, I’d believe them. Like I said, I knew a guy that spent almost a grand. He was Aussie, and a guildmate of mine.

Just want to say; These rage threads are awesome.

My guess is that the OP misunderstood the meaning of the word Gatcha. The word itself originated in japan with the vending machines. These machines are similar to those found in amusement parks: the have a glass box filled with little toys and the player tries to use a crane like contraption to pull a toy out with the cranes claw. the term comes from the sound that the machine made “Gatcha.”

Over the years the term became incorporated in gamer conversations regarding mobile gaming in the sense that there was an element of chance. Then it escalated to mean predatory financial element. Since people would insert a coin in a slot to play. But it was known that these machines were rigged against the player.

Then it became meshed with mobile gaming conversations since mobiles games include unfair mechanics to essentially cheat the gamer out of their money by various game mechanics. This praying on the gamers who become addicted to said games. These are called Whales, big spenders, or VIPs. Unfortunately. Many gamers spent unheard of amounts of real world cash for digital goods. Which they really can’t afford. The game industry’s predatory financial models pray on gamer psychological vulnerabilities.

In Wow. The problem is that at a moderate level this type of thing has started to rear it’s detrimental effect. By slowly introducing these negative monetization model to the player community. First by the Wow cash shop for items and extra services, then the Wow Token. What this does is make some players think that they must pay extra irl cash for things that are already in the game which should be available at no extra cost to the player.

Hence the simi-confusion of terms. But the actual meaning holds true.

They really are. Hard to imagine so many humans so thoroughly detached from the real world, but here we are.
