Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur $90.00 Ripoff!

You forgot to mention the horrible price gouging that took place by disreputable people during the Covid pandemic.

Just for those that don’t know.
Price gouging is the practice of charging customers excessive prices for goods or services, especially when demand is high and supplies are limited. It’s often considered unfair and is a crime in some US jurisdictions during civil emergencies.

Wow is a mmorpg. All it’s assets should be available for All the players through their subscriptions. Wow should not have the Token for real cash, or the cash shop either. That is a bad monetization model. If you pay a sub for Wow you should be able to get whatever you want in the game just by doing quests for rewards and fighting mobs for loot. It is that simple.

how is a mount not content. what is content for you? the telitubby dragonflight ending cutscene was what you consider content?

For those that don’t get it. The cash shop and all these monetization schemes result in a real discrimination issue for players that can’t afford it. People want Wow to be accessible to all players with equal opportunity to enjoy the game.

I’d be curious how much money they’ve made so far with that mount alone.

lets just do this pay subs for each months and dont buy any stuff off them for a year and see what happing after that they well start listing to players true or false ?

This mount is accessible to everyone you can buy it with gold…you have till Jan 5th of next year to come up with about 1.6 million gold…its called doing some work in game to make the gold…go farm ores and herbs sell the heck out of them…you can gather the new mats now easily better then we use to be able to back in the day…if you can’t do the gold way then save 10 dollars a week …you have enough time to make it too $90

Not every game needs to be accessible to every gamer.

It’s a better strategy to target a more niche, dedicated crowd for continued long term success… good examples are fromsoft games, old blizzard before activision and grinding gear games

Yes I know but the overall impact of price gouging on inflation is minimal because the situations which allow it are minimal. For example, during a total eclipse hotels in the area might charge exorbitant prices. And as you said, in some places it is not legal.

By contrast COVID induced supply chain issues came from producing countries having a sever crackdown due to COVID that impacted a huge number of products and services causing supply shortages leading to the World Wide inflation we see today.

As for WoW, this Bronto is not needed for anything. It is a 100% luxury item. If anyone tries price gouging on a luxury item people just laugh and walk away.

Well some people will think it is necessary and buy it. I hope they enjoy their new mount and have some real nice use for it in-game. What I dislike is the fact that Bliz priced it so high. As well as making it a cash shop only in-game item.

The mount itself is fine. I feel it would of been better to just have it available to players as a quest reward instead.

It 100% fine now days for a company to make money in a cash shop. If it helps keep a game alive and keeps the game being developed for years to come. Why complain about it, would you rather them say a game is no longer producing enough money to warrant development or upkeep so they just shut it all down and delete everything.

I really don’t care what Joe Kool spends his money on and how much he spends. And frankly I don’t care what anyone else thinks how I spend mine. Don’t like what I invest money in, then don’t watch me in world with the things I own and using then.

It wont be the end of my game play or my world. I also doubt it will be the end of yours.

When you have a population of several million you will find someone who will believe just about anything. No sensible person would believe they need the Bronto.

And yes it’s priced high but those who want it right away and can afford it will pay the $90. Later they can lower the price, just as a department store lowers the price of summer clothing to clear their inventory just before the fall collection hits the racks in August.

Ok. But the world of gaming has changed so much. What ever happened to the days of earning rewards by questing?

it’s literally just another gold sink, just as the OG auction house mount was (except that one was a lot more). you can buy the mount either money or gold, just as you could back in BFA, i say this because i’m sure there was multiple people who bought that mount via wow tokens using real money. this one has a time limit, just as that one did. maybe not as long as a time limit, but it also doesn’t cost as much. the only thing i wish they would have done differently but also not at the same time, is maybe make the mount a TWW theme instead of a BFA theme, but it also gives players a recolor of a mount they can’t obtain anymore. so really, there’s not much issue with this at all.

That’s still the case for anything important. The Bronto is mostly cosmetic.

It’s important for the game to avoid being “Pay to win”. Pay to ride a Bronto that’s a different color from other Bronto’s has no impact on the game.

Well questing gives you Gold …which in turn take gold and turn into Bnet Balance real money and buy the mount…aka the reward…so you are really earning if you do it that way.

If this needs an explanation from me, to you-too bad.

I’m not interest in engaging with bad faith, intellectually dishonest trolls.

Its only a ripoff if you don’t have a brain.

OG Brutosaur, when it came out, cost $500 in tokens. And people happily bought it with tokens (or with boost money, which GASP comes from tokens), and no one complained.

It then went onto BMAH and started selling for the gold cap. Which is $800 currently. And people happily bought it with tokens (or with boost money, which GASP comes from tokens) and no one complained.

Then Blizzard released it for $90 on the store, effectively slashing the price down in more than half (it now costs 6 tokens, which is effectively 1.5mil at current token prices). While also giving people who don’t have gold in the game an option to obtain it for a fee that is much less than it would have cost to buy tokens and get it off of BMAH.

But hey, you need a brain to actually think about it logically. You’re not crying about it because you think Blizz is greedy. You’re crying about it because you wanted a brutosaur for 300k gold. ($20)

Of course the mount is game content.

Game content is everything that makes up the game. Characters, items, animals, loot, weapons, npcs, writing, art work, etc. If it is something in a game, that is considered game content. The term “game content,” Is anything and everything in a game.

Analogy: The term; the contents of a house; means every thing contained in a house; furniture, appliances, rugs, draperies, toys, toothpaste, cutlery, dishes, food, etc. If it is something in a house. It is the house’s content.

Same goes for games. The game engine is the house itself. the game content is everything inside the game engine.
