Why are you so surprised? If you’re any bit knowlegeable you’d know Microsoft loves micro transactions. This is a root evil on every gaming platform; Playstation,PC, Xbox and Nintendo. Playstation amd Xbox wall their online play behind yearly subscriptions, nintendo now has online play for old system games, steam allows expansions and small minute details to add to games. They just added backyard baseball on steam, a game originally given in a cereal box as a free prize now costs 8 dollars to get. Nothing is given for free anymore. Even so, this type of mount yes, its expensive but its also more obtainable by the mass of the community. Most people couldnt dream of getting the OG mount back in BFA. Gold inflation was already high, and then they tack on a 5 million gold mount. I’ve never had more than 1.2 mill at any given time. I had to work hard just to get the Grand Expedition Yak mount during Pandaria. So yes its still expensive, but not out of reach completely.
This poverty shaming crap has got to stop. It’s not a cute look, you’re gross for participating in it. I’m highly confident a lot of the people participating have the mindset that “if I call other people poor then others will be fooled into thinking I’m rich!”.
The fact that people with no self control can’t possibly fathom anyone else having self control is very sad.
Just because you lack the comprehension skills to understand why this is bad for gaming doesn’t magically make it not possible. Now go carry on being a nasty little person
That’s normal Supply and Demand in action. The prices went up when supply was low and demand was so high that they were constantly sold out. Now that most folks who wanted the new Brut got them (because it’s relatively easy to gather ~1.5-2 mil gold in-game which equates to the 7 tokens needed for the after tax BattleNet balance needed to buy it from the shop), both the supply is going back up while demand is heading back down to “normal” levels.
It is evil. The greed. Guess you haven’t been noticing the high inflation that has been building up over the past years to the point that housing is so expensive now that the average working people can hardly afford it, same goes for groceries, food prices are at an all time high. This includes Walmart’s prices. Every body has been effected by it.
Not every person has the money to throw away. You have people who play Wow who have average wages and are paying for themselves and their families. You have single parents raising children. living from pay check to pay check. You have students with student debts.
You have kids who don’t have any money of their own and their parents are more worried about how they are going to buy food and pay the rent next week. You have seniors living on fixed incomes etc. All these people can’t afford to pay for digital items in a game. The sin is when a company knows all this yet sells a mount for $90.00 just evil.
But then there are those people in life that can’t recognize reprehensible business practices. They are happy to make excuses for the same people that are financially abusing them. Oh well. They will continue to bow and scrape at the feet of their corporate masters.
Wow is a great game but yes. A lot of people have cancelled their subscriptions over the years. In fact whats even worse is the high price for the internet services. And their are free games out there. Not as good as Wow but eventually if all this continues the only answer will be for people to unsubscribe. If this inflation continues they might even be forced to cancel their internet services. People need food, housing, clothing, medical services. They don’t need a $90.00 in-game digital toy.
Greedy exploitative deceptive business practices have always financially abused customers. That’s a fact. I find your defense of these business practices offensive.
I am kind of confused where is the abuse here and how?
Also the only thing I remember in grade school was getting paddled by teachers and smacked by other parents. I certainly do not recall any psychology. This must be new.
