It doesn’t matter that you believe or not, the store is 100% optional content outside of buying an game outright or game time/sub. Everything else is 100% optional things that you do not have to have in order to play WoW.
The items sold in that store helps keeps prices down over all because it adds to the over all money the game makes. Microsoft will get their money out of the game one way or the other, if the store is not providing enough revenue, they will increase the cost of subs and everything else that is required to play period to cover it. Or they just dump the game and turn off the servers and fire everyone, Don’t know what part of that you do not seem to understand when it comes to game development. Everyone makes their money somehow out of a game.
Sorry that you seem to have missed that boat when it pulled away from the pier.
Bottom line if you don’t want it, then don’t buy it. Those of us who wanted it already have it and are happy with paying what we did for it. What a concept huh?
you’ll argue till youre blue in the face with a dozen or so on this forum who whine about everyone else being here 7 days a week but youre wasting your time. Most of this is just about getting attention. Not REAL discussion.
This company is in this for the MONEY…PERIOD.
and YES…IF they arent getting profits in one area, they WILL get them in another…
REGARDLESS of the circus show in here, YES…if they CANT get those profits anywhere else they WILL raise the sub and expansion costs…period.
And frankly the poorer players here should WELCOME the idea that WE are funding the store to make up those profits so THEIR costs dont go up.
never said you couldnt lol.
But I think you all might benefit from this …
… grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference.
tell us…did Ion back down on the last Bruto?
No…he didnt.
In fact the man doubled down on his position and entirely removed it from the vendor.
Do you THINK hes gonna back down on a 90 buck Bruto?
If you do, keep right on railing.
If, however, you apply the PAST BEHAVIOR of this company to this scenario, then youll do better to apply the quote above to your own mental processes.
I ranted for a bit about some changes I hate…but I know Ion has no real motivation to back down on them so I had to apply that quote to my own thinking…otherwise I’ll drive myself nuts with it.
Okay the 1st day you couldn’t move in any city because of the number of these mounts around when you logged in. Right now when you log in, no matter what city or major hub you always see at least 3 or even more of them out. Meaning a massive amount of player now have this mount and use it when they want to.
You may not and I will say a fair share of people are just like you and refuse to buy it for the same reasons as you. But I would more than wager that 50% or more have got this mount and paid for it via gold or cash either way. So stop with the whole only tiny amount of fat cats got this mount story line to make yourself feel stronger on your high horse opinion that Microsoft lost out by selling this mount for $90, they hit their mark with the price and they hit it well.
Your agreement is not needed by them at this point, the proof is in the pudding so to say.
Have a wonderful day at just responding by saying it isn’t so in your own little world.
lol…the first 24 hours or so they were EVERYWHERE.
So many of them it was embarrassing to fire mine up for feeling like I was just being a lemming lmao.
Thanks for the crash course in supply and demand, but I don’t think this has anything to do with the pure conjecture that Blizzard had to create a cash shop in order to supplement rising costs and keep the subscription at the same price lol
It is a myth that you can raise prices to cover rising costs. You can’t.
The reason you can’t is that if you are already at the top of the revenue curve, that means any rise in prices will lower revenue because the losses from people deciding to no longer buy exceed the revenue from the higher price. That is what determines the peak of the revenue curve.
To maximize revenue you set the price at the top of the revenue curve. This is price setting 101.
