Got a response from Blizzard. They said “Oh yeah? That sucks doesn’t it. Well we strongly advise not scamming but if you don’t wanna get scammed, we got AH’s you know?”
What a dumpster company now. No wonder none of the original people work for it.

I found the script that was used on me, I have verified it’s use on guild members and it works surprisingly well. I’ll post it after the next response because, afterall, it’s legit gameplay so no harm letting it out in the open.

Believe it or not: companies are not your friends. Don’t defend their anti-consumer positions just because you like the product. Don’t be a fanboy.
Clearly I was being sarcastic and para-phrasing. The gist of what was said was true in both accounts. The dude that scammed me is still scamming people and has had hundreds of folks write tickets about him now and no action has been taken against him.
But hey, keep fanboying for blizzard, that will help solve the glaring issues in the company.

The confirmation dialogue is what makes the scam possible.
It has exactly the opposite of the intended effect.
So for right now, do we just wait a few seconds on a trade? Or is it more complicated?
Wait till gold person confirms. Wait random time before hitting accept.
Confirmation dialog won’t show when 0 gold, so it’s why this works with fast clickers.

that is weird because when I got scammed they said they don’t tolerate scammers, and will ban anyone found scamming, but will not restore stolen items. Did you provide screenshots of the agreed upon price during the scam?
No, the weak aura is much faster than that. Wait until it happens to you and you’ll fully appreciate what we are saying

This is why too much information provided in the game that can be reacted to in the format of automaton is really bad for the game, and this same technique is used to apply dots and debuffs in both PvE and PVP.
It’s my hope this brings some strict restrictions to the API to further neuter the abuse.
Been playing on Beta without addons because they are disabled and it’s actually really fun.
Pro-tip: Never use player to player trading unless it’s conjured items.

This is why components of the UI that allow for “improved reactions via information” AKA scripting that may as well be botting; need to be killed off.
Nothing is so hard in this game that you need a UI mod that literally holds your hand and tells you what to do or even selects targets for you. (Reason it’s possible)
Eliminating this sort of UI function should be high on the prio list but certain players are incapable of playing without the crutches because they refuse to improve. (The reason it’s possible)
So here we are, a game with some really awful exploitation via its lax API rules.
In more direct response to your problems, try the customer service forum, even try hitting up in game GM’s till you proc a real human because that’s kinda what the problem with their CS appears to be.
