People are individuals. Also, squares are rectangles.
Yes, but not all rectangles are squares. The squares would prefer you didnât lump us in with the non-equilaterals.
That is my point entirely. An individual is an individual, doesnât mean they also donât fit into groups.
Youâre painting an entire subset of the playerbase with a very broad brush. My own experience has illustrated that RP realms have a much greater problem with player behavior than the PvP realms did.
Subjective, yes. Just like your own experience, which again is painting a lot of people as being crappy without justification.
Crappy people know no uniform demographic.
Iâm only toxic if I eat too much cabbage.
Thatâs abusing the report system. The CMs wonât like that.
Gotta point out that this is strange language to use and even stranger behavior to expect in an MMORPG.
Ach! Yer a right proper Scotsman, ainât ye?
Friendly advice: maybe change the title to Bad Experiences? People wonât get hung up on the word toxicity and people wonât get confused and bring their toxicity here.
Just a tiny thing if itâs gonna be a mega thread.
Mmm, yes. Very strange indeed. What odd concoction is it that MMOs provide a wide variety of activities of which people are drawn to in varied degrees of preference! Almost a community if you will!
Should definitely include PvPers, because thatâs the entire reason why RP servers generally have a problem with PvPers. Oof, the irony.
Btw? You can completely avoid and never have to participate in RP, but youâre forced into PvP at times and incentivized to partake in PvP but not in RP.
Yup. Like when a group of RPers try to have a funeral for a dead guildmate and the other faction finds out and crashes it with PvP.
Oof, indeed.
And the WORST people were the PVP hardcores. ALWAYS.Is it possible that you just say them as the worst because you donât like PvP?
What was it exactly that you considered so bad about them? Because one thing I know about RP realms. The term griefing is used pretty loosely.
I donât even understand how you have bad experiences with RPers. If you donât RP, I donât see how your world even overlaps with theirs.
I do RP and I love RP. Just look at my character, guild name and mog. I have a pretty carefully thought out backstory for this character too and how she acts. And I know many RPers are very pleasant and awesome people to be with. As such I would many times partake in RP events. Iâll answer your question ahead. I just want to go through some other things first.
Hardcore raiders are like mad scientists. They live in a bubble where they obsess over critical strike rating, maximum spreadsheet DPS, and class
Hardcore anything in this game. Raider, PvPer, RPer. Heck whatever. There are many of these groups that are especially toxic, but again it all depends on what exactly you mean by hardcore. Like are you talking about those with 2400+ arena rating? Just those who do pvp for hours on end or those who lead pvp groups and stuff?
RPers, even the weird ones, again, stick to their niche.
Ya know what is even weirder? Someone who loves RP-PvP and does most RP with warmode on. This is because both of these communities normally have a wide divide.
But PVPers have that League of Legends, âlol ur momâ, tea-bag the guyâs corpse attitude going on.
Okay. This is a stereotype and and the vast majority of people arenât like this. Also lets not forget about the whole goldshire thing. And like with those gold shire folk they donât reflect the majority. I know I donât do this. This problem can also be resolved if you do organized RP-PvP events between two groups of people with rules to follow.
On behalf of âyour peopleâ it is spectacular as a PVP representative you even write in complete sentences - most of your fellows donât.
You see what I mean? Generalizations like these are plain wrong and I donât consider myself a âPvP representativeâ I am just simply someone telling you about how I feel on the matter and my experiences. Keep in mind that I also love RP.
How are you ever forced into PvP?
World quests in enemy territory, where you end up getting flagged for PvP even when youâre not in warmode. Bunch of quests that still flag you for PvP, even when not in warmode. /pvp is still a thing outside of warmode so it still occurs.
/clearthroat
High elves
/run away
Yes I know /PvP is still a thing, but Iâve never accidentally been flagged in BfA so far.
Their awful attitudes, the way they treated other players, and the sadistic glee out of their preferred activity ruining the experiences of others. Itâs digital sadism.
Thatâs basically what an RP/PVP realm was.
Except it totally is. Itâs literally the reason I got off Maelstrom. If it wasnât, Iâd still be there. Server transfers are expensive when you add them up.
It is literally impossible to grief a PvPer with RP. Unless someday they add a âSpectator Modeâ to arenas and battlegrounds.
Fortunately, War Mode now helps.
I remember this one time a guy made a thread and threatened to report for spam if you disagreed with someone in the safe space. The more passive toxicity was awful.
I flag for PvP in safe spaces.
