Toxicity Mega Thread

Mod Edit: This thread quickly derailed into trolling and back and forth arguing. Closing this down.

rule 1: this is a vent thread, not a discussion thread. just vent or sympathize. don’t try to point out wrongs or i will report as spam. u have been warned!

Post all experiences of toxicity here. it may not be as attention grabbing as making your own thread, but you will be in good company with the rest of us!
we need to consolidate hate. The only time it should be expressed openly is if there is something that we can do about it, or blizzard can do about it. but if not, we can all do our part to keep forums cleaner.

If you are going to make a thread about toxicity, it would also be wise to include RPers. I ended up moving this character off WRA because of an overwhelmingly general negative attitude towards PvP and those who do it.

Just yesterday I stabbed a guy with my poisoned daggers…

One time I had a person disagree with me.

Another time I had someone who was far more progressed than me tell me I wasn’t good enough to do this level of content. Unbelievable.

This community is beyond saving.

I find it toxic that, when I pass somewhere everybody dosent bow down at my passage.
Bow before the light as a sign of respect !

What you may find toxic, others will find as sweet honey.

The most toxicity is within these forums. You dare post something that goes against the hive mind of the thread majority and good luck.

That’s legit though.

RP > PvP.

Overwhelming negativity towards PvP is well deserved. It’s a simmering stew of the nastiest facet of the game that’s been sitting on the stove for almost 15 years.

Then don’t enter pvp on the rp server?

PvP isn’t just an activity. It’s a mindset. PvP players themselves are the most horrific breed of WoW player. Most RPers, even the toxic ones, tend to stay in their own lane. PvPers take their attitude and drag it everywhere they go, from raids to General chat.

I’ve never had an RP guy give me that GOGOGOGOGOGO crap in a dungeon.

@Aeryna: Ah. Ya see what I mean? Many people love it PvP more than RP. I love both, but you are already criticizing it and those who who do. This kind of deep hatred for something that isn’t even relevant to you and you can completely avoid is the kind of thing I am talking about.

Then don’t enter pvp on the rp server?

When I was there I pretty much was exclusively doing battlegrounds and arenas. People wouldn’t even see me. I was there because I also like RP. What bothered me was all anti-talk and hate over there. Like I understand if you don’t like pvp. Thats fine, but insult and treat those who do it like direct. Then there is also the many false accusations and rumors told about it which are simply bias and/or false. PvP isn’t just an activity. It’s a mindset.

How can anyone take you seriously when you say things like this? This is exactly what I mean by toxicity from the RP community. I love PvP and I am not toxic to anyone. Most people I know who like PvP are pleasant people to interact with. They are just playing the game as it is intended to be played. In fact some of the worse experiences I have had have been with RPers. Everyone group has their toxic people yes, but just look how you acted when I told you why I left WRA. There are certain types of activities in this game I really don’t like doing, but I don’t bash people for it.

The nastiness you mention seems to me to exist across the board. For instance PvE players can’t even be trusted with master loot since they screwed each other over so much. That’s before we even get into things like frivolous kicks in dungeons and other content, the drama that is often present in raid guilds, how nasty people can get even in LFR when the group wipes, and that sort of thing.

I spent YEARS on the Maelstrom server, which is an RP/PVP server. And the WORST people were the PVP hardcores. ALWAYS.

I don’t even understand how you have bad experiences with RPers. If you don’t RP, I don’t see how your world even overlaps with theirs. I’m on Moonguard now, and everyone knows all about Goldshire… so… I stay away from Goldshire. Done. Problem solved. They stay in their bubble.

Hardcore raiders are like mad scientists. They live in a bubble where they obsess over critical strike rating, maximum spreadsheet DPS, and class compositions. Tinkering with numbers and generally staying to their own like kind.

RPers, even the weird ones, again, stick to their niche.

But PVPers have that League of Legends, “lol ur mom”, tea-bag the guy’s corpse attitude going on.

On behalf of “your people” it is spectacular as a PVP representative you even write in complete sentences - most of your fellows don’t.

It’s almost like people are individuals, isn’t it?
