Toxic players in retail are going to get a life lesson in classic

On alliance side there was quite a few in trade chat and also some here and there in /1 in elwynn and westfall

doubtful with all the BFA players and automated reporting in the game. anyone that makes a joke and offends someone will be muted.

And that is why I turn off the Trade channel ASAP.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a lot the pServer crowd are coming with classic and those guys are edgelord neckbeard level of toxic.

Classic will be worse than retail until these people start getting banned for being douchecanoes.

Yet you have people in the classic community wanting designated servers for their personal reasons because they dont wanna be offended.

Do you think Vanilla is happy nice fun land? Sure the community was great, but there were plenty of a** holes back then.

don’t worry. Retail is dead. Those fools will suffer. BFA and retail days are numbered.

I’m honest really surprised.

Sure jerks existed, we’ve had them since cave man times when some thug would smack someone over the head with a club and steal his food. They probably outdate prostitution.

The big difference between now and say 15 years ago - anonymity. They couldn’t just be d*cks all day, every day and stay in the game. Eventually their bad rep and sh1tty attitudes would catch up with them. To keep going, they had to make a new account, which was also a lot less viable back then.

Actually retail is far from dead but you know, you do you buddy

Yes and no.

Sure, if someone was really that overly terrible over a long enough time, they’d have to make a new character. But that was fairly rare. Besides, folks who wanted to be jerks were there to be jerks, not to beat Naxx…if you catch my drift.

And in reality, while some guilds did have black lists…when you’re working for 3-4 hours just to assemble a group, you’re going to eventually cave in and take that jerky last piece before abandoning the dungeon run.

There is little to stop anyone in the game from being nasty or rude etc if they really want to. It depends on whats more important - being part of a social supportive group and being accepted for important parts of the game, or being ‘toxic’. There will always be, I think, a percentage of people who gain some strange sense of satisfaction from being cruel or nasty, and those you can do little about. Unless they go too far and break the rules and can be reported. But beyond that, you can only hope they get bored and leave.

Just wait till retail players get a taste of the good ole’ days. They’re gonna be like “wait what you actually get to earn your mounts in game?”… “wait leveing is actually a big part of the game?” “wait raiding is actually fun?” … “wait what does community mean?”

I dont really mind toxicity, when you play an online game or do anything on an online platform you’re gonna come across toxicity, its rather expected. Some if it can even be entertaining however when someone tries to make it out like one side is toxic while the other isn’t, then yeah thats pretty shady.

I mean you can try and make it seem like retail players are dumb all you want, a bulk of the retailers played before LFG/LFR, xrealm was released. Considering some forms of content in retail are harder than anything vanilla has to offer I don’t think pulling less mobs while leveling is gonna be all difficult for a retail player to figure out. I would think anyone going into classic already knows that currency is scarce and that mounts and epic riding are expensive. Many retailers even played vanilla when it was live.

And considering retailers are still paying to play an arguably bad expansion they arent likely to stop playing a tedious “better” version of wow just because leveling takes longer.

Eh. If I was in that group, and I saw that jerk who was known for ninja looting or purposely wiping the group for fun, or whatever negative thing, I’d abandon ship and go work on something else before I wasted my game time putting up with it.

it only takes 3-4 hours to assemble a group if you’re playing a DPS class.
Tanks and Healers find groups almost instantly, even in Vanilla.

You’re a Retail apologist. Retail is a pay to win game. Filled with character boosts, gold sales, and general casualness. Prepare to get rocked.

I played it. Its not going to be anything new to me. You’re biased towards vanilla, I get it. Retailers arent all idiots like you make them up to be though. However like I said, you do you.

Im in it for the long haul, both on Classic and Retail.

Retail needs to die. Its stale. Boring. Repetitive. Maybe in a few years we might get a Warcraft 4. We cant do that until retail is dead.

You’re mistakenly thinking toxic players will care about their reputation or play Vanilla.

Being in a guild mattered far more than a server rep. You didn’t need to pug when you had a big guild.
