Toxic players in retail are going to get a life lesson in classic

So, when a retail player attacks Classic, it is toxic.

But when a Classic player attacks retail, it is not toxic.

Thank you for proving just how much hypocrisy there is in the classic community.

retail apologists are all the same. If they had a healthy subscriber count why not show it? They don’t because its a joke. They had 12 million during wotlk.

Im not a retail apologist, this isnt a good expansion yet theres been math that shows it globally 5 million and devs stating they arent worried about subscriber count. Not to mention the last quarterly earnings report showed its still trending in the right direction (which is also boosted by classic admittedly but no data how much either version contributed). You have nothing but opinion, erroneous ones at that. I know the subscriber counts from back then, they also had millions more than the active subscribers quit before getting to level 15 between vanilla and wrath. Must mean those versions sucked too right?

I don’t consider anyone who hates on the game as being toxic whether it’s people who play retail hating on Classic or vice versa. What I consider toxic is when that hate is projected onto the playerbase. When the toxic mentality of retail players carries over to Classic is what I don’t want happening. Once the first few months have gone by and the retail people who are all douchenozzles go back to retail and things calm down, maybe THEN we can have our vanilla community the way it should be

Yeah cause there were zero toxic players in vanilla

The beautiful thing about it is that subscriber count no longer matters.

Now it is all about MAUs and MTXs. WoW is still profitable and that is all that matters.

Also, with the shared sub, all MAUs of WoW are counted, whether playing Classic or retail. So, they are completely linked.

And what of the toxic mentality of Classic players carrying over to Classic as is already prevalent on these forums?

Exactly, both benefit from the eachother and depending on how well Classic is received there may be even better expansions in the future. However lets just let the fanbois clamor over classic and let an ever evolving wow die and blindly believe a non evolving 15 year old version of the game will keep wow afloat lol

Haha, plenty of toxic players in vanilla. Will be plenty in Classic.

I mean look at this forum. You think if some players are in classic and talking about retail content that they aren’t going to get some ‘no one cares’ responses?

Has anyone posted the definition for " Toxic Player " ?

Well the OP is a good example of one.

I rest my case!

Yes, as a Guild Master of a guild, Ulthric would be the perfect example of what I call
a " name caller " a red flag for this guy doesn’t belong in my guild.

  1. Name calling.
  2. Makes excuses for bad behavior.
  3. Drama Queens

Not calling anyone out specifically, but no.

This is just a way for toxic players to excuse their own behavior. “Everyone is/was doing it!” No, everyone isn’t.

Although there were some painful people back then, it didn’t compare to the generation of players now who were literally raised on the idea that your online reputation is the gaming equivalent of a burner phone - discard it when it’s used up, move on to the next one.

Agreed,…by saying others did it does not excuse their behavior. gg

good point Calico!!!

I would also like to add Drama Queens to the list. Nothing drags down
guild productivity like good old fashion Drama and can suck the whole guild
into it.

Yes they are!!!
