Toxic players in retail are going to get a life lesson in classic

You could have tried to atleast use examples that doesn’t also happen in retail.

I’m old and in gaming terms considered ancient at 52 and started playing in 2003 in the most “toxic” game ever: Shadowbane. Outside of that game I have found that player communities are never as good as the rose colored glasses crowd will espouse and never as bad as the worst critics/complainers state. They always fall somewhere in between.

Does retail even have optional bosses? or organic world pvp? Not to mention people don’t even have to level anymore with boosts.

My early experience starting in 2005. Joined a guild and learned how to play my L60 MM hunter with the help of sites like Elitist Jerks. The top 30 or so of us in the guild concentrated on clearing content but our #1 priority was seeing to it that Everyone got geared up.

No hiding who you really are when a mic and headphones are required gear:)

So you’re making factual statements without even knowing what retail has or doesnt have?

I’m saying that retail has non of these things. Leveling isn’t even important because of the boost. Farming is pointless because you can buy gold with a WoW token. World PVP doesn’t happen because everyone is either in a safe area or on a flying mount.

Yeah you don’t know what you’re talking about.

You sure about that? The WoW store sells boosts, WoW tokens, flying mounts. There is no community since everything is cross servers. You don’t even recognize people.

Whens the last time you played retail? Just curious

I played in WOD. Everyone sat in garrisons. It was terrible. I know enough about the last two expansions to know that nothing has changed. They have more store mounts, more boosts, and still sell WoW Tokens. And cross servers are still a thing.

everyone sitting in garrisons was true in WoD but thats not what its like today and your lack of having played it shows. Please stop stating your opinions as fact.

From my experience retail rp realms are not toxic, at least I have yet to really meet someone I had to put on ignore after 7 years of being on one. So I feel like vanilla rp realms would be the same after awhile.

Its not an opinion its a fact. I don’t have to play legion or BFA to know that WoW Tokens are still a thing. Gold is irrelevent and can literally be purchased with real money.

Cross servers and sharding are still a thing. You don’t recognize anyone and rarely do you run into the same person twice. You can literally queue for dungeons, groups, and even raids and not know anyone or even speak.

And leveling is obviously a joke because you can still literally buy a boost. What part am I missing?

Yet there are still farmers farming everyday and guilds running low on resouces for their raids and having guild members contribute to the resources just like back in the day.

Server competitions are still a thing and you very often recognize people. Especially on the large servers you see people in Boralus quite often.

Boosts are indeed a thing, yet you have hundreds of people leveling alts or new characters everyday.

Just because a service is available doesnt mean everyone is using them. Again, please stop stating your opinions as fact, as they are not true.

Oh, and even with flying mounts there are tons of organic pvp even on pve servers in Mechagon and Nazjatar. Again, your ignorance shows.

Dang, can’t remember how to use Ventrilo.

Well their subscriber count failing seems to agree with me. Don’t worry though classic will boost that once again. Most people wont even install retail I bet though.

Their subscriber count isn’t as low as classic fanbois think it is.
