Toxic - ? Lost it's meaning

Has been used far to often and has lost its meaning.

Toxic: very harmful or unpleasant in a pervasive or insidious way.

It seems every time a few people say or do something that actually is or does become toxic it’s permissible to use on any people whom one disagrees.

Very harmful? really? Not that much is
Unpleasant? This one part seems to be enough to latch onto
Insidious? doubtful

Other words as well, though they’re not coming to mind.

I find this post toxic and I, for one, will not stand for it. I would like to speak to your manager or supervisor!

Fenny!!!

You couldn’t help yourself? Could you!!!

I don’t trust the first definition on Google. I use Merriam-Webster.

“3: extremely harsh, malicious, or harmful.”

This can apply to people.

I agree, but when over used those that it really applies to don’t get the boot like they should.

Gotta say, the fact you find people overusing the word toxic incorrectly is toxic.
:triumph::triumph:

It never had a definition for social context. Riot just coined it as a term for any behavior they didn’t like.

Fenny did right!

Everyone on this forum isn’t toxic, a few really are, others are nut jobs, troublemakers, or idjits - or worse self-important spouting horse manure

If you want to see something truly toxic just wait about 10 to 12 hours after eating Taco Bell.

It’s become a dog whistle.

Surprise, both sides have them.

Everyone believes the other side has been bamboozled by their leaders. The problem is, everyone is right.

I asked a melee player earlier this season if they had interrupts on their bar…legitimately curious, because I wanted to help them…

guess who was being “toxic” and “elitist” lol :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

That’s incredibly correct. Though at first I thought you were going to say “wagging the dog”

Why? Not sure if you’re trying to be clever for cleverness sake or you have a point…?

Omg, really?! Sigh

I know, just saw dog when reading at first and the saying jumped into my head. Then wondered how it could be relevant. Funny how the mind can think in the space of reading the next word.
