Yeah “toxic” and “trolling” just means you disagree with someone. The word has lost it’s punch (so to speak).

If it was used correctly, has well as trolling, and a host of words I’m just blanking on today (shut-up Fenny lol) we could use it on the real perpetrators and get something done. Instead we get mega-threads going in circles. I guess it’s entertaining for some.

Woke up at 4:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep. Then suddenly fell asleep at 8:30 for two hours and brain is like cotton.

I could “troll” someone just for the pure fun of it and could care less if I disagreed with you or not.
You can’t know why people are fighting and arguing with you, and on the internet people will just do things for any reason, even if it is to make you suffer.

It hasnt lost its meaning at all. The problem is the goal post keeps moving a certain way in the definition of the word. I personally find most people toxic in some way or another based on what they say or do. The same is true about how others feel about me. Many think I am toxic because of my beliefs or actions.
Toxic is as toxic does. Meh who cares? Have a beer and move on.
It’s a forum … and we need our entertainment. Plus I get cranky with the rest.
To be honest, I don’t say anything here that I don’t say in real life to friends and family. Even the smart-butt remarks. Love yas, Honeypot - man I adore that name, and it always makes me think of that place in Stormvalley with a Pooh-bear sitting around somewhere.

It just like many other internet terms get thrown around willy nilly (and often incorrectly) it loses all meaning.
Just like ___ist or ____phobe, incel, alt right, soyboy, sjw and the like.

We humans are complicated creatures sometimes. Butt head moments are apart of life. Not saying its always right, but, when ppl point fingers I’m like… Oh, what’s it like to be purrfect?

I guess that’s what or where “toxic” belongs: the truly bad, harmful people that have serious issues that need addressing.
Yeah, they’re on the forum, social media. But, the danger is saying a whole belief system is toxic just because I disagree. (not talking about cults or the like here that fit a different description.)
I mean I think this is the important thing. At the end of the day it is just a word. The people are the issue not the word itself.
I don’t see any reason to get stressed out over a word gaining or losing meaning it doesn’t really change much.
Does it change who I am? No. Does it change things between me and those I know? No. Does it really do anything. No. All it does is somewhat change the meaning for those in the small space for those who use the word. I go someplace else and toxic still means the same thing. I write a story and toxic will mean what it has always meant.
It is just here people but a certain meaning that seems to gain and lose.
