Group didn’t auto-accept you =/= Toxic.
Group invited you, said something rude then kicked you = Toxic.
Calling people toxic for not inviting you = Toxic
Funny story, I was in a Discord once and one guy was playing a DPS and he couldn’t believe the nerve that a group leader did not invite him so he started insulting and spamming them and Whispers And telling them that they will fail because they did not invite him. He then proceeded to post a screenshot of what was said to the discord because he thought it was the group leader being toxic for not inviting him but it turns out he was The Toxic one all along but just didn’t know it until everyone collectively said what he was doing was not nearly as great as he thought it was.
When there are hundreds of people and only five can go at a time, you need to make a distinction of why someone would take you over someone else, it isn’t because everyone is toxic and requiring a god comp for their plus two key.

I genuinely don’t understand how people find themselves in situation where they can’t find a pug M+ group. I’ve been able to get my KSH and AotC quite easily and I’m playing an Affliction lock, the spec that was considered literally the worst DPS spec in the game. Yes, maybe it took a bit more time than for other specs, but still, I’ve been able to do it.
Am I this lucky or some people call any inconvenience toxic?

People who see a comp dominate the meta for pushing 25+ keys and then try to enforce that comp for their 7-10s is hilarious to me.
Without a doubt I believe that if you say or think you need a certain class in a 10 or lower “for the comp”, you’re probably a terrible player.
Easy content is always better

Lol I don’t even engage with M+, last time I did was when Legion brought them out, I enjoyed M0 more than any M+.
Return to Karazhan and other megadungeons are my jam, especially when you get to do the whole thing.
Honestly not sure how the two dps specs and the healer spec made the pass on the beta.
They feel bad to play in general… from balance and resto mostly you have alot going on but the numbers arent there for you…

It’s literally just play well and people will invite you.
I keep getting told to go frost, but I stay unholy. I also do A LOT of damage. Same group that said ‘lulunholy?’ also said ‘oh nvm’ when I hit 5mil aoe on a pull and everyone else was at 2mil.
It just goes back to “bring the player, not the class”. Sure you’ll have hero requirements and such, but if you play well. Meta is meaningless unless you are literally in the .01% pushing world best.
And meta meat heads will ALWAYS exist, look at vanilla stacking arms wars. But that doesn’t speak for or apply to the vast majority running the content.

I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of people who invite for low/mid level keys aren’t thinking about the meta.
people don’t get invited and THEY think it’s because of the meta when it’s not. it’s simply a numbers game.

that’s why people are having so much trouble finding people to play with. they’re not playing well, and instead of trying to improve they’re making excuses or blaming the meta or raging at streamers for making tier lists or whatever.
I would argue that those people don’t exist in numbers large enough to be important.
OP, here’s the deal so it makes it easier for you. Keep applying and don’t let a decline get to you. If you don’t see any groups, make your own group and take whatever class you want to take with you.
Remember a lot of those “mix/max” players you see in LFG aren’t the real high-end players. Maybe they even have a preconceived bias against classes (for example hunters lol). I get declined a lot because I’m a hunter. Those who do invite me, see not all of us are bad

On the rare occasion, like TW raids, I apply for a group; I apply for all of them that don’t have the DPS slots filled.
Seriously, I click the button an every last one of them
There’s like a bazillion DPS for every tank and heals so there’s lots to go around.
Of course I get declined for the first 10 or so groups> sometimes more.
They fill DPSs so fast most times they get delisted by the time I get my finger off the clicker button.
But i usually get a spot.

Wait, this is about not getting invited to groups? That’s not toxicity; they don’t even know you. Have you never started a group? You start a group, random strangers apply, you know nothing about these people other than class, i-lvl, and M+ rating. Most people pick the one(s) they think will most help the group. Maybe you go out of your way to pick undergeard, inexperienced, off-meta underdogs? Doesn’t matter; no matter who you pick, someone somewhere is grousing about you not picking them. If all those people who don’t get picked would get together, they’d be able to form 100s of groups, maybe 1000s. But that won’t happen unless they start groups and pick each other.
Also be nice and people will invite you, as in you will make friends and they will invite you. I run a lot of keys. Some we run are challenging (to us) and we have to be careful how we build our groups, but much of the time we’re just chilling in discord and inviting whichever friends we find first. There’s more to life than chasing numbers. “The real treasure is the friends you make along the way.” But if someone insists on pugging, they have to expect pug life.
