I’m a Cata noob but… why are all the town portals gone? Did Deathwing eat them? Only an Org port in Shattrath and Dalaran… and zero ports at the portals location in Org

Blizzard is trying to force us to go to Stormwind when we all know Ironforge is the best city in the game.

in stormwind is a stone monument in the middle of sws lake nearby the dwarven district, they probably have a similar thing in durotar.
i didnt check it myself but theres where it used to be during the post cata era in retail

You’re tripping. There were no portals to the other capital cities in Cata, only from Shattrath and Dalaran to Stormwind and Orgrimmar

oh true, the portal spot in mop was in the shrine of seven something of the flowers and wod had stormshield

Why’d they have to take away the QoL portals in Shat/Dal if they don’t add any replacements Knowing at least beats thinking it’s one of the many bugged things wrong though, thanks!

They want us going to Orgrimmar and Stormwind because that’s where the Cata zone portals will be. They also don’t want the past expansion zones to be the central hub either

But really, even without town-to-town ports, travel is pretty easy between the capitals: boats (SW->Darn/Exodar), zeppelins (Org->TB/UC), a tram (SW->IF), and even a little teleport (UC->Silvermoon).

It has been this way since OG Cata and continues all the way to DF.
I don’t think so, I think portals were in Dalaran, Shatter city and Shrines for Mop till BfA were they removed them all in favor of the portal room but I could be wrong. It has been some time

I’m saying during OG Cata.
Dal, Shatt had portals to SW and Org. then you had to go to the other cities from there. This has been the case for sure since OG Cata.

I honestly never understood this hub/spoke thing… why not just keep portals from all cities to all the other cities but

it’s one of the biggest things I wish they kept for retail, it makes so many more zones feel alive with the easy of travel. I WISH I could make my main City Slivermoon kinda crazy they never advance it in that direction.
The one nice thing I did was in WoD, my banking toon went out there and setup camp where it never ever had to see a crowd of people for auction house, mailbox, etc.
I’m with you though – I’d rather have my city in Dal, or Silver or some place and then I can hop over to somewhere else…not like it is a big deal I guess to hop twice but it was be nice to just do it once.

That area only had portals for Cataclysm zones, later included the one for MoP.
Dalaran in Northrend had portals to all the capital cities in OG Cataclysm, but for some unknown reason Blizz is only allowing portals to SW and Org in Dal currently.
pre patch is why.
