I’m clearing floors at 98% to 100% each, and can’t score more than 3 stars. Three times I tried, ON LEVEL 1, and still can’t get more than 3 stars. What’s up with that?

Tortureghast guides all say the most important thing is to clear floors. Well, it ain’t. You could clear all floors and still only score 130 points.

I’ll just skip Tortureghast and run raids/dungeons with my guild. Fewer hours in WoW gives me more time in EvE.

There is definitely something wrong with the scoring. Several have reported this issue. Full clear does not get best score.
There are a number of things you can do to increase your score:
I was only able to get three gems on my hunter at layer 9 but my DH was able to get multiple fours. If your having a hard time try to complete as many of the extras as possible, time is only worth 50 points you can easily make that up with things like killing 2 eilites within 10 seconds of each other or not taking damage from trap, or use the ravenous cell on the broker.
This video helped me.
I ran into this same problem, as posted here. If you want to ignore the timer you need to focus on three things:
- ZERO deaths (used to be five)
- 100% completion for the run (not too hard; just don’t miss any mobs, urns, or rescued souls – this gets you 100 points
- At least another 60 points from “Bonus Objectives” (see wowhead).
It should be easy to get 30-50 bonus points without even trying, but you’ll need to pay attention to get 60. Alternatively you can go a little faster and your score for time will be non-zero, but you can do this at your own pace and ignore the timer IF you can get 60 bonus points (e.g., kill 2 elites at the same time (<10 sec apart), use a ravenous cell on a broker to loot them, don’t take any epic anima powers, don’t take an anima power you’ve already taken, don’t take any trap damage, etc.). Sucks imo, but this is what we have unless/until they change it.
Also be sure to visit the Box of Many Things in the Runecarver’s chamber after every run to see if you can upgrade it… removing torments and auto-looting seem pretty helpful.
I’m with OP. Clear floors 98-100%. STILL get only 3 stars because I’m a tank. The new changes KILLS torghast for tanks and healers.

Or people can stop spouting nonsense. Learn the bonus objectives and complete them for easy points.
look up the bonus point system. you should be able to get 4 stars without a ton of effort. i got my first 5 star tonight… it took a few attempts but i crushed it once the stars aligned!
Blizzard should let players go to the next level on 3 stars and not 4. My hunter can solo level 7, but can’t get more than 3 stars on level 1 on the new scoring system to get to level 2? That’s just crazy.
