Torghast, Mage Tower 2.0 or Endless Time Sink?

Torghast was described to be a never ending, randomized series of floors in a tower. It has rewards depending on how high you go, if I understood Ion correctly. He said some of these rewards can be taken outside the tower. He also said the Shadowlands Legendaries are crafted from these rewards, which is my concern.

Will you have to continually grind the tower in order to make the gameplay altering, often spec correcting legendaries before your character plays properly? Or is it more akin to the Mage Tower focused on cosmetic rewards?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t it a replacement for the mythic chest system.

No. He said the mythic chest would let you select the item you want from a few choices depending on what you did the previous week.

Yeah, get ready to grind and no, it’s not a new Mage Tower.

I’m interpreting it as the new island expeditions, only someone was playing FF14 and really liked Palace of the Dead.

From what I read on Wowhead, it is a solo to 5 person instance.

I hope it drops gear and Increases in difficulty dropping higher level gear. This would allow those of us to progress solo, something I’ve been advocating the last couple of years.

I’m really looking forward to this next expansion. It seems Blizzard has been reading the forums (especially if the covenants become Allied Races).

It really sounds more like palace of the dead.

They sad that we will be able to target the legebdaries and the item necessary to craft them will come from this tower…that means we will have no rng on it? Maybe they’ll tell us today on the deep dive

Except that Palace of the Dead isn’t tied to gear or crafting legendaries. Borderline forces people into this thing, whether they like it or not.

Will be curious how people in WoW take the Palace of the Dead/Heaven on High concept.

Hopefully the latter. It’s an mmo. Time sinks are what I’m here for!

Ill be taking my brother, who’s my personal tank lol ahahaha, and two random dps and farm the sh#$& out of this tower.
I just hope the rewards we get from this doesnt outgear slots we get from raids so we can keep this as a side option, relevant but not something to make raiding irrelevant lol

By the looks of it, island expeditions 2.0, where you’ll grind anima.

It also drops the crafting materials for Legendaries.

It will certainly be a big focus for us, but it’s suppose to change each week, and have “Secrets” whatever that means.

Honestly it’s something I’ve been hoping for, I have really high hopes for Torghast, and I hope Ion has a good vision here.

Anima isnt like AP. There’s no grind, not in the same manner at least.
