Torghast is stupid hard now

And how do we show Blizzard that fun needs to always take priority over time a played metric?

By NOT playing. If you hate how long things take? Do not do those things.

I find this to be true too. Group seems like WAY MORE fun to me than solo.

So much this.

Everyone, just stop going there.

You can’t, can you? “You” whine and 8itch and complain, but you still go there.

Whatever helps you sleep at night, big fella.

… are you okay?

Great, thanks for asking!

Here is the problem with Torghast being harder.

There is no reward. You can make content harder, But if there is no point in doing that content why would you want to?

Anything, gold, anima, actual loot…

Nope, people are upset that they can’t even do the lowest few layers. The top end will take care of itself. It’s the casuals and soloers who are feeling abused here.

If you cannot easily solo layer 8 on the first day it is released without any planning or items, Blizzard is a failure and Ion needs to be ousted now.

I got stuck at fourth floor. Just not doing enough damage to overcome the bosses damage multiplier stacks

A couple more weeks of gear gathering and you’ll be golden in there, big guy!

Torghast has been a rollercoaster of emotions to me lol. At the first week I hated it. Warrior powers were weak as hell and anything beyond layer 2 was quite impossible to me.
After a few buffs and new anima powers I had a blast doing Torghast. It was challenging but not to the point where it was impossible.
Then came yesterday and oh boy, they done f’ed that up.

I can’t even pass through the first floor of layer 7 Upper Reaches and I have 195 ilvl which should be enough. The Empowered Imperial Consular floor boss is absurdly overtuned, he two shot me as Arms. I tried doing as Protection but it’s no use, I can take him to 30%ish health and thats it. It’s a barrage of Sin Bolts in your face, insanely fast cast speeds you can’t even interrupt it appropriately.
It also doesn’t help I can’t try for a better start of the dungeon RNG. This run gave me two weak powers that doesn’t help me survive or do damage at all (rats exploding power and additional Charge talent).
I died 5 times to the boss and thought to myself: Oh well, gonna try it again and hope for better RNG.
Nope, same powers as the last run and the whole floor didn’t give me any additional anima power. I’m stuck with that choice that doesn’t help me at all.

Way to go Blizzard, you are trying your hardest to make this content unbearable, and not because of low feedback it was.

Blizzard really out here trying to make the expansion bad.

The boss is hard, for sure. I ran a 2 and got smashed at first by the magic boss (I’m assuming the one you’re talking about is the one that casts the silence). I’m low geared and was running just to get my leggo at 3am; it was just plain silly lol.

I am no longer having fun in Torghast like week one.

Sheeping is not a good strat, kitting is not a good strat I either dps and go crazy with my cooldowns or I dont do anything.

Kinda weird now. Feels like a chore and not a fun thing I get to do.

This is a widespread problem on these forums. As soon as someone clears an entire raid, it’s suddenly “easy,” despite all the weeks and hours of their life that they had to dedicate to reach the point where it became a cakewalk for them. They never stop to consider that others want games to feel like games. We shouldn’t have to study for raids the way doctoral students study for their qualifying exams, but that’s how the game is currently designed. We shouldn’t have to religiously do weeklies over a 16-week period before capping our renown, but that’s the current state of affairs anyway. This game is no longer designed for normal people. It’s exclusively rigged in favor of the tryhards who want to no-life the game. While I agree that there should be some content tailored for those players, I don’t believe that all content should be created just for them. The problem is that years of this mentality has given players a skewed perspective of what a video game should be like.

You should see all the rage on the Classic forums over how easy Classic raids are. Players were shocked to realize that content they found to be extremely difficult when they were just 10 years old was actually doable by anyone with patience. Whenever those guys cry for harder raids, they get redirected back to Retail. I don’t think this attitude has done the game any favors. It’s no accident that subs spiked when Classic was released. Classic is a game that respects your time, not because doing stuff is any faster, but because everything you do is rewarding. Torghast is a clear example of the disrespect that Blizzard has for casual players. It’s grindy, it’s boring, and the rewards are minimal. If you’re not into running Mythic+ dungeons or raiding, you’re pretty much a second class citizen. The former set of players gets to loot the “Great Vault” every week. The second class citizens get to clear Torghast Layer 4 for some Soul Ash that they probably can’t even use.

The item level at which something can be done varies extremely wildly between players.

And of course the people who did it easier a week ago on tanks and healers 100% were able to clear it because of their skill at the game.

Absolutely no way it was because their version was objectively much easier.
